This new shite music trend...

Reasons I don't like this song one bit:


Aweful lyrics.
Pointless screaming.
There doesn't actually seem to be a point to the song as it's about nothing.
Annoying beat behind the annoying "vocalists"
Needless effects put throughout the song to make it "mainstream"
The lame attempt of everyone in the band to try and take advantage every popular type of music at once.
Annoying synth.


Let's move onto another song, entitled "Get Crunk"
*See list of problems related to the former song and apply them to this one.




Edit 1: In regards to my PS statement in my first post, it wasn't a bullshit statement, it was more of a suggestion on my part.


Edit 2: I'm actually curious as to why anyone would like this type of "music" or why you'd try and say that it is in any way entertaining. If anyone does like it, please enlighten me.

Sorry but that's one of the most dumbest things I've ever heard.

EDIT: Todd that's ridiculous...how can you base someone's intelligence on the music they listen to. Look at some of the lyrics in certain System Of A Down songs...I don't think you can call someone stupid or unintelligent because of the lyrics in the songs they listen to.

 

You could alternatively view it that the people involved in making this music are incredibly intellectual as they've somehow managed to convince people that what they're making is good enough for them to spend money on it.

 

Well, that probably isn't the case, Luke. But music does say a whole lot about people, you know.

 

I'll admit those are the absolute stupidest lyrics I've ever seen in my life (I almost can't believe they're real), but maybe the people who like that music just like music they can chill to. I mean, not everything has to be about something, you know? I mean hell, most rap songs don't make any sense, but it doesn't mean that people are stupid or "not intellectual" for liking it. That just doesn't make any sense.

I was refering to the quote, which says that music is a social fact (not the only one, by far) that contributes in culture.

Then I said you could argue, which I said I wouldn't, if music is related to culture, people who like this aren't educated in culture.

That doesn't, essentially, mean they aren't capable of being educated if they are given a chance, that doesn't mean they won't be later in life, but it might.


There's a huge difference between being smart (and the opposite you call an idiot) and being educated.

 

The thing is, not all of System's lyrics are unintelligent whereas from what I can gather about this band, and other bands that may fall into this genre (and even the likes of Lil' John and whoever else), is that all of their lyrics are complete trash and are about nothing.

Also I know it's no better, but Brokencyde didn't write the lyrics for most of their songs. They are covers.

 

I will quite happily take a warning to say that this band is utter bullshit.

 

So in other words, people who aren't smart, who are uneducated, wouldn't be able to like a band like Coldplay or any other band considered "intelligent"? Again, dumbest thing I've ever heard.

 

I'd rather not get a warning for replying how I would like to. Honestly, what the fuck was the point of this thread? Don't like the music, don't listen to it, there's no need to make an entire thread on the premise of "this band is fucking shit, man!", nor the oh so cool quips about people's musical taste.

1) Coldplay is pop music. Their lyrics aren't that intelligent either.

2) I think by far the dumbest thing I've heard today is that song.

3) I was debating music as art asks for an educated point of view to really understand.

That doesn't mean a person can't think some kind of music it's "pretty", "fun" or even "smart" from their point of view.

Also, I made the thread to point out that worthless "music" like this needs to stop. The fact that it's started is bad enough. When you listen to some of the bands that are around today, especially underground bands, it's just stupid that stuff like this is taking up the market where extremely talented musicians that work hard and deserve to be higher up in the industry.


As I've said, I've given my reasons for disliking this band and any other like them I can't be arsed with people saying that this is started on the premise of how shit this band is (though they are really shit).
