And why? Mine would have to be The Tommyknockers by Stephen King. I usually like his books, but I tried four or five times to get through that book, and never got past chapter 6. I can't really even explain why, other than it was just impossible to get into the story.
The Robert Langdon/Angels & Demons books. Good stories written too plainly. Probably not actually bad but definitely overrated in my view.
I think I'll add The Hobbit to my short list. I don't understand all the fuss over it. It's actually quite boring and nothing exciting ever actually happens. Most of the chapters could've been cut down to about three words: "They're still walking." The language gets confusing at times. The best part was when the book finally ended.
I loved The Hobbit and The Da Vinci Code, Angels & Demons is ALRIGHT but not the worst i've ever read. I think my worst is probably some book that I NEVER knew the title of. It had no cover and was a SciFi story about some girl as the main character, who is with some archeology expedition on a planet with human like natives (pygmy almost) that somehow were connected to the ruins, which was actually a crashed spaceship that never left the planet when all the others did. I read this because it was on my teachers book shelf in 6th grade and everyday we had to read for 15 minutes. I ended up finishing the book and was completely insane afterwards.
"Lisey's Story" by Stephen King is one I have to mention because I found it really boring and I couldn't finish it. But I generally don't remember books I didn't like.
I read that book right after I finished reading The Da Vinci Code and I was highly disappointed. I wouldn't say it was the worst I've read, though.
To be fair, Angels & Demons came out first, so if you read them in the wrong order, the older book is going to seem subpar.
I know. I actually didn't know about Angels & Demons till after I've read The Da Vinci Code, and I liked the last one quite alot so, I thought this'd probably be just as good. But it wasn't. I don't think it's because I read them in the wrong order, it really was just overrated, like Dean said.
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaargh! you made vasia veeeeeeeeeery angry!!! [Master Tolkien....rrrrrrespect!] The worst I've ever read...King Richard II by Shakespeare and Great Expectations by Dickens
Twilight. It didn't have a definite and/or interesting plotline, plus it was poorly written IMO. Dan Brown's Deception Point might take the second spot. It just felt a little too far fetched. However I love the rest of his works.
Wuthering Heights.. I know it's a classic.. but it sucked so bad. I could barely keep my attention reading it.
Thank god! I finally found another person that does NOT like this book!!!!!!! It was boooooooooooring
