I doubt we would hear Phoenix lay down vocals on his own in the studio. Maybe some backing vocals, that's about it.

    I have not.

I wasn't saying he doesn't have a good voice, I just don't think LP would need a 3rd vocalist on their studio efforts other than backing vocals.

I personally think this could turn out very well. My biggest complaint against Minutes to Midnight has always been it's messiness, so news like this bodes well for the band not repeating that (what with the album having a common theme). The only fear I have about it being a concept album is the possibility that it turns out really overblown and pretentious. We'll see what happens.

Actually I was under the impression Minutes To Midnight was a concept album about the shadow of the day embracing the world in grey, and putting you out of your fucking misery six feet underwater with hands held high.

Actually, it's about having no more sorrow on a valentines day while you bleed it out by forgiving what you've done in between.

They have trouble with lyrics at the best of times so I'm tempted to say that it'll be aweful or the topic will be boring and predictable.

It varies really. They have their awful lyrics, they have their passable lyrics, and they have lyrics that are actually pretty good.

They couldn't have chosen a better time to put out a concept album! If anything, they've proven with Minutes to Midnight that they are capable of writing strong lyrics. So now I think they can take that a step further by writing a concept album. I probably would not have supported this if they decided to do this in the pre-MTM era, because, in all honestly, I'm not a big fan of the pre-MTM lyrics, especially Meteora. So yeah basically I'm psyched for the new record, along with Chester's solo!

Will you stop the bashing, please? You're on a Linkin Park site, dude, it's shameful to bash them on their own fansite.

I'm pretty much all up for it as long as they HAVE a fourth album for heaven's sake. Even if they delay it some more, I still just want an album.

Seriously, most of us are passed the pre-teen LP hype that Meteora brought. 80% of the active members here are between the ages of 15 & 25. A lot of us have been LP fans for so long that LP just isn't out #1 priority in music anymore. We've gone on to different music and isntead of checking the LPA for news about a new record everyday, we come here to chat amongst outselves, like our own private Facebook or something.

Linkin Park's new record will be here before we all know it. There's really no point in sitting around, anticipating and getting excited over nothing, because our hopes have been brought up before and when the records dropped so did our excitement.

They're the biggest band in the world, but not the best. There is so much more and better music out there. Go listen, and you just might find something else you like to by-pass the time.
