I found out about this a couple days ago on Last.fm. I guess there are a bunch of her songs floating around out there on the internet.

Isn't Evanescence basically an Amy Lee solo project now?

Evanescence pretty much doesn't exist anymore.

Meh, i'm not really all "woohooo" about this news. Though i would've been if it was an Evanescence album, sorta.

Evanescence, even in its beginning stages, was never really a band. As far as I know, it started out as Ben Moody and Amy Lee writing all the music and the lyrics and since Ben left, it was Terry and Amy. The other members got sick of not having their material in the band (even though Terry and Amy felt the material didnt fit) and they left/Amy told them to leave. I, personally, think its going to be better this way. It will definitely be interesting to hear these Celtic influences she is talking about in the interview.

Yeah, but Ben Moody was a big part of the "band", by him leaving it just isn't the same anymore. I mean i think Fallen was awesome, but that was it. That's why i'm not that exited about the whole thing. I really liked Ben Moody.

Good to hear that she's switching up the style. I'm kinda sick of the "evanescence sound". I don't think putting out another Evanescence album will have much of an impact. They had their chance. It's better with just Amy doing her own thing.
