I just found the track listing for this game and figured a lot of people on here would enjoy it. Source: http://kotaku.com/5032751/the-full-rock-revolution-setlist
It's pretty much Konami finally catching up with something they indirectly started. Guitar Hero was obviously inspired by the success of rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution, many of which Konami developed (they also had a guitar game called Guitar Freaks long before GH came out).
Ahhh, okay. Still, you'd think they'd realize that they're not going to be able to compete with Guitar Hero or Rock Band.
Especially with a set list thats half the size of the competition (or way less than half if you look at Rock Band). Although, there are some great songs on here.
there are some awesome songs on that list. if it's working with the gh:wt hardware i'll be getting this. and by the way, i smell some great DLC for GH!
QFT No seriously, thank you. Many people don't realize this and quickly assume it's a rip-off. Guitar Freaks and Drummania were developed 10 years ago and are currently on their 16th versions. GH and RB are nothing new. As a longtime Bemani fan and GFdm player I'm really saddened by Konami's attempts in "Americanizing" their games for foreign audiences. While it may be smart move for finding newer players, not so great for loyal fans who have been playing their imports all these years. I would have given this a try just for LP's sake, but looking at the previews hasn't impressed me so far.
Looking at the list I'm surprised some of those songs aren't on Guitar Hero or Rock Band yet, especially "Last Resort" by Papa Roach. Granted it'd have to be censored worse than porn at four in the afternoon on Cartoon Network, but still.
Damn, that's a pretty interesting list. Except for Avril's song, of course. I mean Avril? rock revolution? give me a freakin break!
OH MY GOD! you're kidding, right? her music is punk and even almost pop sometimes. She's got absolutely nothing to do with rock music, well real rock music anyway.
Ummm... I'm just gonna leave this one alone. Besides the fact that punk is actually called punk rock and is and always has been an offshoot of rock...I'll just leave it at that. And her music isn't even close to punk anyway. There's also no such thing as "real" rock.
Still, punk rock isn't the same as rock. Music like say, Led Zeppelin's can be called rock, not hers. But you're right, we obviously ain't gunna get anywhere with this so yeah whatever.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vSKE-BpWXLI&feature=related given up guitar and drum chart. drums look quite "more" concerning the buttons than gh:wt. the guitar chart is a joke and the bridge is absolutely terrible.
Guitar chart doesn't look that bad to me. It matches up rhythmically and everything, I just think it looks a little more complicated than it needs to be with that many 3-note chords. But eh, I guess that's why it's "Expert." The interface looks a LOT like Stepmania.
oh yeah, don't get me wrong, it has all the elements of the real guitar (dead notes, rhythm, etc) but 3 note chords are so annoying and way overused there IMO.
What the flying fuck? Go listen to Leftover Crack, Bad Brains, Choking Victim, Adolescents, the Casualties, the Unseen, Sex Pistols, Black Flag, Rudimentary Peni, Suicidal Tendencies, Operation Ivy so on and so forth and then come back and tell me Avril is in any way punk.
I could dispute a few of those bands being punk if I was feeling pedantic enough, but I'm not. (figuratively speaking) This game doesn't look that great anyway. I mean I am aware of Konami's history in the rhythm-action genre but I don't see why people would bother with this when it basically looks like one of those watered-down budget games Midas and whoever would bring out on the PSOne, albeit with actual licensed songs.
It definitely looks cheaply made. I want to get it because of some of the songs, but the charts look terrible.
