I think she's trying to say the actual file size is above the limit for a sig.

 

Animated sigs are generally frowned upon here.

 

A long time ago Todd made a little topic about how heavy your sig can be as in kb wise, that gif is way too much. Which makes me a saaaad panda.

Well, there's that, but a lot of times, animated sigs can be pretty big, which was part of what Todd was talking about. Like, Tim's sig is OK, but the image you posted, it was kind of lagging as it was loading.

I don't think anyone would care if you used it though.

Well, isn't that if you Upload a sig onto the LPA server? If it's on photobucket isn't it not really taking much from LPA ?

It's nothing to do with bandwidth used on servers. Not everyone has graphics cards that can render so much graphics at once, let alone animated graphics, and a lot of times loading a lot of graphics slows down a person's connection, so they made the rule to stop stuff like that.

There was one point in time where people had tons of animated sigs and sigs that were just way too big and they were lagging people's connections really badly.

 

Ah.. I see.

I don't have internet at home anymore, so it's impossible for me to know how slow it would load on dail up.
