So with all the Metallica hype lately, I figured people had overlooked another great band releasing another album this year. AC/DC release Black Ice on October 20th. Their first single Rock & Roll Train is set to be released in a few days and you can hear a sample on their myspace. Not a lot to go on but still, I'm looking forward to it and will definitely be there for their world tour later this year. Anyone else a fan or looking forward to the new album?
It's with the lineup that recorded Back In Black, I believe. Seems like a good song, I like the occasional song by them but I've never been able to listen to a full album's worth.
It's all the same line-up as before. They've switched back to their original drummer from the late 70's - early 80's now though, but other than that, and obviously not having their "original singer" it's all the same group as it's pretty much always been.
I thought they already released a new CD this year..... titled "Runnin' Wild?" I can't wait for this CD, should be pretty good, just hope it's not TOO dumbed down being a wal-mart only exclusive
As if AC/DC's drummer matters. They've been playing the same basic rock beat in every song they've ever released. I'll listen to the singles, probably not buy the album. Most overrated band of all time, hardly the greatest band to ever come from Australia, as some people insist on saying. Really, it's good pop music, but that's about it.
opinions are welcome, but AC/DC, one of the greatest rock and roll bands ever has released their new single and they get no love? Fuck Metallica, they have a growing thread while this one was stabbed and waiting to die listen to their new song "Rock N' Roll Train" at http://www.acdc.com/ everyone can argue AC/DC is the same old same old rock band, but isn't that what Rock is all about? I think this song is great and can't wait for the full length CD.
I don't care what anyone says, music doesn't have to be complicated to be good. Heck, Linkin Park isn't complicated. I love AC/DC. New song is great.
Definitely. The new song is great. Can't wait for the new album. You can't beat some feel good rock & roll.
Oh my fucking God it's the same drum beat again! But the song sounds good, they're a great feel good, party band. Just don't ever call them Australia's greatest band in front of me... lol
Rock N Roll Train ROCKS! Can't wait to hear the rest of the Black Ice album. It's recorded in analog and just sounds like the sweet old school ACDC! Same Sound? Would you rather ACDC change to Bon Jovi sound? LMFAO I'm glad they still sound like ACDC because ACDC rocks baby! You can pre-order Black Ice on vinyl or CD.
They're Australia's greatest rock band ever. Hands down. No contest. Period. The end. Forever. Times two.
hahahaha i'm with Harlz there's heep of much better Australian bands. Cept most of them are underground-ish. It's just like calling KISS america's best band.
Seriously, they're really British for a start, all their songs are about women, "rocking", and touring in America. In no way does this band represent Australia in the way that Midnight Oil, Cold Chisel, and, to an extent, Silverchair and Powderfinger do. Dammit The Wiggles are more Australian
Yeah, and all Linkin Park's songs are about not being cool. And all of Nine Inch Nail's songs are about drugs and being depressed. I'm sorry, but the bands you mentioned have nothing on AC/DC. And don't even mention Silverchair after they released the garbage that was their last album.
Listen to Vanishing Point, Ne Obliviscaris, Sleepmakeswaves and Laura. Whilst a few of em don't have albums out, AC/DC has nothing on them. You obviously haven't listened to enough Australian music to have any idea of what your talking about. Agreed on Midnight Oil Harlz. How can we sleep when people think AC/DC are better than them?
My point is that they can't be considered a representation of Australian music, when in no way do they represent anything of Australia, musically, lyrically, socially or politically. Did AC/DC play at the Olympics in Sydney? We could've had any Aussie band represent us, and Midnight Oil was chosen. Silverchair's latest effort was far more complex and original than anything they've done before. Dislike it all you want, but don't pass it off as being garbage just because they don't sound like *insert generic grunge band here* anymore. I don't dislike AC/DC, they make good pop-rock. Good to play at a party. But they've maintained the same sound their entire career, they haven't pushed a boundary since their first album, and I don't see that as being very respectable.
Man, my dad and I can't wait for Black Ice. AC/DC is one of the few bands we can both listen to together and enjoy.
