The "power violence" group (whatever that means) started by Daryl Palumbo (Glassjaw) and Geoff Rickly (Thursday). They uploaded one song to their MySpace tonight/this morning, but I can't seem to find it due to them completely redesigning their page. Oh well, I'm sure it'll be on the torrents later today. But, yeah, anyone else psyched for this album (September 9th)? I'm a big fan of Glassjaw and Thursday, so I have high hopes for this project. That said, Glassjaw's new album needs to be completed and released, like, yesterday. Goddamnit. http://www.myspace.com/unitednations
I'm psyched for this. Glassjaw was/is amazing and I have high hopes for this. I'm not into this type of music but I've always enjoyed Daryl's bands.
<3333 Can't wait, I'm so excited for this... And Dean, it's not really more of one or the other apparently, it's just a collab.
It's obviously a Nazi group, albeit one with a member who's usual band's other central member is Jewish.
Converge's drummer, Ben Koller, is also involved with the band. That said, I'm excited for this. It'll be awesome to hear what they can do, since this is easily outside of their paradigms.
Well yeah, it is, to a certain extent anyway. The only place referring to it as just grindcore is the article on Geoff from Wikipedia anyway. It does fit under power violence pretty well but I'm never using that term ever again because I'm not some pedantic hardcore fan.
Not that MySpace gives artists much choice, but their genre listing has them under 'grindcore'. There's really no significance to that, but yeah.
