Man, the series was so episodic it seems hard to make it a movie unless they are throwing out the original script or basing it off the anime movie.

    Epic fail.

How much do you want to bet that Keanu Reeves will sound either like a stoner, or utter the word "whoa" at least once during this movie? The matrix was a good series, but if his subsequent movies have proved anything to me since then, it's that he is a somewhat terrible actor. Each character he plays has the same emotion, same stone faced expression and all sound like they are high when delivering their lines.

If he'd change his voice even slightly between roles, I might be inclined to cut him some slack. He's in a new movie which is called (I think) "The Day The Earth Stood Still". Check out the trailer. It's like Neo got bored and decided to star in another movie.

I think that comment sums it up pretty well. They could have the best possible cast and it still wouldn't necessarily be a good adaptation.

On a slightly different note I'm not sure where the picture of Keanu in that article is from but he looks like Morrissey on pot.

You've never seen the original "The Day the Earth Stood Still" before, have you? He fits the character perfectly and that was the whole point.

I actually agree with you there. The character he plays in that film, Klaatu, is an alien who naturally would be distant, somewhat glum, and inhuman (in a sense of the word), so, presuming it's faithful to the original, it would suit him pretty well.

I don't actually think he's a bad actor at all but I think he has been miscast pretty often, and this (him possibly being cast as Spike) would be a case of that.

Meh, I like his performances. Although he seemingly portrays the same old person in almost every film he's starred in, he's still quite intense imo. The only reason that I would agree with people calling him a 'bad actor' is because he fails in delivering a diversity.
