I don't think Walcott has been a letdown whatsoever to be honest. I think Eriksson is to blame for all his negative reviews because when he got named in the england world cup squad everyone expected him to be some kind of wonderkid. People often forget that he's only 19 and good talent requires time to be nurtured.
I won't write the kid off yet, that's unfair of me. Good luck to the lad, I just haven't been impressed recently, but probably hype has affected me...
If Arsenal ever do feel he isn't fulfilling himself they can always sell him to us. Having the fastest combination of wingers/strikers in the premiership would be nice.
My brother went to the Arsenal VS Real Madrid match. Which is so not fair. I mean he doesn't support Arsenal. Noo, it's ManUre for him. UGH.
All the Villa fans who seem to think we ought to be signing players like Arshavin and Modric are annoying.
he shouldve gone to Arsenal i have no idea why he wants to go to Spurs at all or his agent says anyway.... on another note Leeds better not sell Jon Douglas, he has been influencial in the last few seasons...
He's priced himself out of a move to Europe now, and frankly, people only love him because of how well he played in Euro 2008. *shrug* He'll fail if he comes here anyway XD
Well he has done well in the UEFA cup before, which is a pretty reasonable level. Not yet worth 100k a week or whatever he wants though. Plus there are players at Villa like Laursen and Bouma who are already established and great players for us, and because of that I think they deserve a higher wage than anyone else coming in regardless of their stature. And yeah, there is the chance he'll be unsuccessful if he came here. I don't see what's wrong with what we're doing in terms of signings, other than the actual quantity of players coming in. It's what Everton were doing a couple of years ago and that's basically where we are now.
thats not true actually, he has been performing pretty well for the last few seasons its just that no one ever gave him the recognisition he deserved and now that all eyes are on him he has an inflated price tag, i mean two years ago he would still be as good but could cost up to two times less of what he is valued at now
I'm sure if we'd signed the Spanish or Italian equivalents of Shorey and Young at twice the price we'd be getting a lot more credit.
just the ticket.. Pools are off to a winning start!! what a game it was 4-2, against a side who came down from the league above. 4-2 flatters them a little bit IMO. they got a penalty which they converted which was NEVER a penalty in the first place. it was ball to hand, not hand ball. for christ sake it was travelling at like 70mph, in a crowded box!! but.. i cant really complain about their second. we might just be a force to reckon with this season by the looks of things from front to back we looked solid as a unit which was great to watch, and with Joel Poter and James Brown upfront the opposition's defence is guna have a right handful. and with Liddle and (Ritchie) Jones (from Man U) in the centre of the field controling the movement of the game, like today, things can only look good for Pools in the rest of the season to come! Sam Collins and Miky Nelson are two of the most formidable central defeners in our league, and both put on a stunning performance in todays game.. not only does our starting 11 look brilliant, but our bench looks powerfull too. i have a good feeling about this season already <---- can you tell im excited? a great start to our centenary season Hartlepool 4 - 2 Colchester [edit]: this is a rare sight... Pools are top of the league http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/DivisionalLeagueTable/0,,10794~200825,00.html
