LPA Calender?

I just realized I never submitted a "vote" on what I thought.

I think it'd be a fun thing to do, but as it's already been pointed out, a lot of favoritism could come out of this. Obviously it'd be best to have a vote, but even then, it really wouldn't be fair.

So no, I don't think it should happen.

Although I must say, I'll share a page with Daniel any day.

 

Yeah won't happen. Anyway for the people who think it's a bad idea. You're entitled to your opinions and are probably right.. so no apologies nessecary. haha.

 

I can see what people mean when they'd say it would be a popularity contest in some respects. I'd be able to deal with that though, and as Rachel said it does kind of happen already in the picture thread haha.

 

And there was me thinking this was a forum and not a high school.

 

People are people. Some probably would take it to heart if they didn't make it on there, just like there are a couple that would probably be dead certs.

 

You're right but it goes back to what I said before about people taking this forum too seriously. I'm not gonna go into it especially since it won't happen anyway but if there was a genuine chance of it happening then it's a bit screwed up that a small amount of people who actually give a crap about so-called popularity and elitism on a fucking Linkin Park fansite forum have the power to kill something that the majority enjoy as harmless fun. It's like the Pervert Parade all over again.

EDIT: Then again maybe it's for the best this doesn't happen. With all due respect, I don't really wanna open up my calender to see Will smiling at me in a mankini or something.

Luke's right. Anyone who's going to worry about popularity here is a little off. I think the number of people who wouldn't be offended would far outweigh the people who would.

Luke, you're right that it's only a forum and I agree with you, but some people take it to heart and are easily offended. Now isn't it easier to avoid possible crap instead of keeping the idea and hurt others?

Now don't get me wrong, I can't give a shit if I wouldn't be in it but maybe others do. People have left forums due to growing ego's of other popular members.

Well, I don't really see any reason why the staff would have to step in if you just made a topic to collect ToS friendly images and have people vote on them. They're here to keep things running smoothly, not to stifle competition to prevent sore losers or something. I mean, I think it's kind of a silly idea, but if there is interest just get the pictures, get the votes, open up photoshop and run with it .

Keep it as clean fun and it isn't like Derek is going to storm in and say "Thou shall not compete!" and wave the almighty ban hammer .

I don't know. Anyway it was kind of stupid of me to put no for good idea and no for willing because if you think it's not a good idea, then it's automatically no for the willing. haha.

 

I think the fact that we're already experiencing conflicting opinions in a thread that's just proposing the idea should be a mark against it ever happening.

If people don't want it, then just don't participate or open the topic. Problem solved .

 

what a great solution. we should just abolish the "keep it clean rule" and have a huge mass of perverted threads be made, and if you enter them and get offended, well, sorry about your luck, you opened it!

seriously, why can't this just a calender created by us with artwork for each month? that's a far better idea than having a poll basically voting for the hottest girls and guys for each month, which is a popularity contest.

Actually I think that would be a far better idea to be honest. But again we'd have the same problem about people's feelings getting hurt if their work doesn't get voted. Of course then again according to your logic the person who is the most popular would get the vote no?

To be honest I'm pretty sick of all this popularity and elitism bullshit. It's a forum. If you can't deal with it then go suck a lemon. I can understand people's feelings being hurt etc. but I can't understand how someone would take popularity on a forum so seriously.

And to be honest Casey, for someone who in the past has said on this forum that you like being a controversial member (however ridiculous that may be) on these boards, it's pretty hypocritical of you trying to use the forum rules as a guidline for your argument. Especially since you were once banned from here. Time after time you've gone on about how you hate this place sometimes because of certain members and the elitism etc. but in all honesty there's a very quick solution if you don't like it: leave.
