why not? PSG isnt a terrible club by any means and i think Makelele should finish at home in France anyway i think its rather fitting if PSG stomped Lyon's championship run!
No full-backs at all then, now Bouma is injured. I think we'll wing it next season with Gardner at right-back again and Stuart Taylor at left-back.
I'm worried about our lack of transfer activity. We've lost Hleb, Flamini, Lehmann and Gilberto who were all experienced players and we've only so far signed Nasri and Ramsey who undoubtedly have exciting potential but have very litte experience.
come on mate, Sorensen wasnt that terrible he was actually half decent if anything and is capable of something incredible if hes given a new run
i've got my new Pools shirt kitted up with the arm tags with a name and number on the back, for this centenery season (1908-2008).. i just need some football to rant about now
he could do well for them, what i said before was probably harsh, but playing for a team that are favourites for relegation he could be an even bigger liability than he usually is on his bad days.
Hm, Liverpool's transfers have dried up for now... Hopefully we won't sell Alonso to the Arse (sorry Luke...it's a habit on LFC forums, much like Chelsh*t and Manure), and may get Barry if the Yanks step in and throw us some cash. If we get Barry, I'd say a good season is ahead: Keane, Barry, N'Gog, Dossena and Cavalieri (who my mum both met as they were buying flats off her boss, proper legends) and Degen. Not too shabby. I'm looking forward to the new season, and the 4-0 thrashing of Rangers was a good start, regardless of whether it's a friendly or not!
Early predictions: 01. Chelsea 02. Man United 03. Liverpool 04. Arsenal 05. Portsmouth 06. Villa 07. Everton 08. Spurs 09. Man City 10. Middlesbrough 11. Wigan 12. Blackburn 13. West Brom 14. Newcastle 15. West Ham 16. Bolton 17. Fulham 18. Sunderland 19. Hull 20. Stoke
Spurs won't get fourth, sorry, it's still a pipe dream for them... 01. Chelsea 02. Man United 03. Liverpool 04. Arsenal 05. Spurs 06. Man City 07. Villa 08. Portsmouth 09. Everton 10. Middlesbrough Top 10 there...Even I don't think Liverpool can win this season, but it could be close for second if we start finishing off small games. I'm sure we only lost 4 games last season, but we drew too many...
My prediction: 01. Chelsea 02. Liverpool 03. Manchester United 04. Arsenal 05. Tottenham Hotspur 06. Portsmouth 07. Manchester City 08. Aston Villa 09. Everton 10. Newcastle United 11. Blackburn Rovers 12. Middlesbrough 13. Wigan Athletic 14. Sunderland 15. West Ham United 16. Bolton Wanderers 17. West Bromwich Albion 18. Fulham 19. Hull City 20. Stoke City
Good man, good to see even after conferring with Luke, Arsenal aren't above Liverpool EDIT: Luke, you think Liverpool can actually get second? Cool
This is gonna be the year that after years of people saying ''Liverpool can do this'' and ''Tottenham can do that'' things will actually start going for both clubs. I don't expect either of them to achieve their primary goals (I don't think Liverpool will win the league and I don't think Spurs will get into the champions league) but this will be the year that they finally step up. I worry for my club however. I get the feeling we wont get another crack at the league for a while.
I don't think we can win the league, but you're right we're definitely heading in the right direction. As for Arsenal, me thinks Wenger is relying too much on his youngsters, and he'll pay for it... I like that 16 year old though, Wilsthire (I think...), promising against Real Madrid.
Wilshere is a fantastic player. Today he got rewarded for his form by getting Gilberto's old number 19. He's gonna be part of the first team this season and he might just steal some of the spotlight away from Theo. I hope he fulfills his potential. There are loads of brilliant english players coming through here including the obvious Walcott and Wilshere but also Henri Lansbury, Mark Randall, Rhys Murphy and Kieron Gibbs.
Personally, I think Walcott has been a bit of a letdown, but that's just me so don't bite my head off. I'm becoming more confident with some of the English talent we're amassing too, it's positive for the international side in the future. Darby, Spearing are two examples who we'll see more of, they may get a couple of starts, they've been the most impressive.
