It's also the fact that my eyes really have to read from left to right while with a normal book you just shift them from left to right. I also have to take alot of breaks to relax my eyes. It definitely takes some getting used to.

    E-Book readers:

Search the .txt file for this sentence. This is where you'll stop reading for the first meeting next Friday:

"The dead fields. A barn in the distance."

Also, I've set a meeting time for 10 PM Eastern time. If you need to convert that, click here (some websites can actually convert the times for you).

I hate E-Books. But at least this one has white spaces unlike The Mist had.. I was so confused reading that. Also I don't know if I'll be able to post at the exact meeting time.. so how long will the meeting last? also are we allowed to discuss the book in the forum on this thread?

What time would work for you guys? I'm more than happy to change it. :) If we can't find a time that works for everyone, then go ahead and post later. Since there's not many of us, we'll just discuss in this thread. Chat room works better when you have lots of people.

Minus Xero: Great! Can you get a copy of the book?

Well the thing is, I don't really have a set time that I can be one.. cause my mom might be on and I can't be on if she is. So, I would guess about 2:00pm -3pm.. kinda.. eastern time.. owell.

Could you give me the sentence where I should stop for the second meeting? Cause I won't have the book in Holland so I suppose I'll read 2/3 of the book before I go?

I'm out now by the way. :p I don't think I have time to read it right now since I'm about to start college very soon, and I have my new job at Best Buy.

Maybe the next time around though, because I would really like to.

I'm halfway into the book...and I'm not sure I want to finish it. I'm so, so bored of it. Everytime I think about it, I'm like 'eeeugh, isn't it finished yet?'. So you know, I don't think I'll finish it. Lame, I know, but I rather read something I enjoy.

I don't really like the book..

I will try to get to the part where I'm suppose to by tomorrow night though! Notice I said try..

It's just some books I think I like at first but then I can't really get into, this is one of those books.

I know it's kinda dry (I'm sorry!), but there are some really good questions to ask:

    1. Why are we not given the character's names? There is definetly a reason for it.
    2. What killed everyone, and why did they survive?
    3. Are the father and son really "good guys" like they say? They abandoned a young boy and basement full of prisoners on their quest South.

These were just some of the questions I wanted to pose to you guys. But I'm guessing nobody's interested anymore? I really hope you guys keep going with it. I think it'll be worth it in the end.

Plus, when the movie comes out next year, you can be one of the snotty people who says the book was better.

Not gonna lie, I didn't even get 2/5ths of the point that we were suppose to stop. I did try though. There was another problem that I am still having that keeps me from using my pc anyway.. The screen res is F*ked and I can't see how to fix it :p so. I couldn't read much more regardless. Still that's no excuse. I didn't want to read it anymore.. haha

Well I've been away for a while so I've missed this one. Now I absolutely hate reading altogether and find it to be extremely boring however I've taken English Literature (Ironic, I know.) and would like to get into reading more and this seems like a good idea.

Due to all the feedback of people saying they dislike the book, what book will be next after this one?

Wow. The ending is REALLY well-written. I can understand why EW said it's the best book written in the past 25 years.

I'm not sure if we'll do another one or not, since everyone seems to have varied tastes. Plus, it's hard for me to know what to pick if no one is willing to read something they may not like at first. However, if you want to read something effortless, I recommend Little Children by Tom Perrotta. If you've seen the movie, it may be less enjoyable, though, since it reads like an extended screenplay.

I suggest memoirs of a geisha, the novel if we do another one .. .. yeah. it's a really great book and it grabs your attention from the get go, I can't tell you if it's better than the movie because I never saw it. Anyway I just finished reading this book but I'm about to read it again because it was that good.
