so there's this band called Pink Floyd... and they own. Echoes is my favorite song. 23 minutes of orgasm. I like some of their early stuff too. I love the song 'Bike' off of The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn You should all be fans
I'll just use this opportunity to state that I absolutely idolize David Gilmour. I really wish I'd been born a few years earlier so I could've seen Pink Floyd when they still toured. PULSE is the greatest live DVD in history, IMO.
Hah, speaking of which, I randomly learned the bass riff by ear one day. Oh, the things you stumble upon when you're bored and mindlessly messing around...
It's actually not too hard, the main riff. I love Pink Floyd. They're one of the first bands I ever got into because of my dad. I think The Wall is my favorite record though. But honestly, I don't listen to them nearly as often as I probably should.
A friend is burning me the wall. She's a huge floyd fan (like everyone should be). that riff in money is so awesome.
My favorite song is Wish You Were Here and my favorite album is The Dark Side Of The Moon, I saw Roger Waters live doing the entire Dark Side album and some of The Wall. It was fuckin amazing. My second favorite song is Us And Them, followed By Time. My all time favorite older band.
You think so? I thought Atom Heart Mother was pretty good for a long song, but Echoes is a much better long song. Alan's Psychedelic Breakfast on the other hand...... is underrated for a reason.
Dude Money is amazing! Im all right jack keep your hands off of my stack. Money, its a hit. Dont give me that do goody good bullshit.
Pink Floyd isn't just amazing...they're inspirational. What I mean by that is is...well...let's just say many of the bands you all idolize today likely wouldn't be around if it wasn't for the existence of Pink Floyd. The reason they are so well respected is because Pink Floyd broke many musical boundaries and were years if not even decades ahead of their time. You can hear their influence in many 'experimental' rock bands today, as PF is the reason some of those very artists picked up an instrument in the first place. They're absolutely incredible and it's a shame they've officially disbanded and likely won't be touring ever again. That's one ticket I'd pay mountains of money for.
Even though the last two albums they made weren't very good, they were still an incredible live act up until the very end. One of many bands I'm glad my parents drilled into my head throughout childhood.
They very well could do some Reunion shows. Both Gilmore and Waters have said in interviews They are all willing to do them, They just are always so Busy with their own Schedules, There was one they were going to do but Gilmore was in the middle of his tour so they couldn't. At least its not like Led Zepp where Plant just doesn't want to do more Shows. (Which is smart, to leave on a high note but it is also a shame)
I don't think that there is a song done by Pink Floyd that I do not like. That's incredible. I had my own mini-celebration of ecstasy when I found out that my favorite band, dredg, is doing a cover of Astronomy Domine for a tribute album to Syd Barrett. That plus the new Metallica album will make for an awesome September.
I love Pink Floyd. I could seriously watch The Wall and never get sick of it. It really is an amazing story. And this bit of lyrics is just absolutely brilliant. We don't need no education We don’t need no thought control No dark sarcasm in the classroom Teachers leave them kids alone Hey! Teacher! Leave them kids alone! All in all it's just another brick in the wall. All in all you're just another brick in the wall. I think it really applies to the quality (or lack there of) of the education that the children in America are receiving now.
oh man, to me pink floyd are like one of the awesomest all-times favorite rock legends .. if you don't know who they are then you pretty much know nothin bout rock music .. lol, i think the first song i've ever heard was by them .. my dad is a HUGE fan, you see
