My friend who's in my band has a mac and uses Garage Band and has made some cool stuff with it and unfortunately I have Windows so Garage Band wouldnt work on mine... is there a similar program out there for windows that works just as well?!
FL Studio is an outstanding program. It's sort of hard to learn, but once you get the hang of it, it's an extremely useful program for making beats and the like. Plus, there are tons of plug-ins for it, which you unfortunately have to pay for, but they're totally worth it in the long run, especially if you plan on making beats for a long time and want variety in your beats.
FL is actually one of the easier ones to learn, i suggest you screw with FL for a little bit and once you got the Hang of it use Reason as a Slave program for FL...that will probably make sense once you have used FL for a while. some other good programs are sonar, cakewalk, and ableton live, theres a free one called reaper you could mess with that too
SUPER DUPER MUSIC LOOPER! http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/showproduct.asp?PID=535 not seriously though.
I suggest you start off with FL Studio. Learning how to use it might take some time but it's totally worth it. You can later get into mode advanced softwares such as, Reason and Cubase. Btw, you'll need a midi keyboard to make music in Cubase. Good luck!
Ive used FL studio before, i just havent used it in a while, too bad garage band wont make it into a windows program
you mean they record into Garage Band? Or they're a purely Garage Band Band? A Garage Band Band would not go far.
haha yeah I know well I've seen a few local bands back in my hometown who have used garage band to do some stuff and back at the college I goto as well a good example of a band that is pretty good with a program like FL studio that puts in some of their own stuff too is this band I discovered a while back called Step Zero http://www.myspace.com/stepzero1 but anyways what about sony acid pro? ive heard that program is pretty good as well
garage band is alright for loops and such but for original work theres not much it has to offer, but just mess around with fl for a while then move up to reason or sonar once you've got the hang of it
