I've only recently gotten into them, but they're quite amazing. Technically they're all gods. Octavarium is the shit as far as I'm concerned. And Metropolis Part 2. Discuss.
Honour Thy Father, In the Name of God, The Great Debate...they have some great songs. EDIT: They often fall flat on their face lyrically though.
Images and words, Six degrees of inner turbulance, Live at bodukan, From those, you'll be hooked hardcore. I am hooked with those. Oh yea, Systematic chaos! Most of their things live are WIN!!! SERIOUSLY THEY ROOOCK!!!!
Haha yea, Systematic Chaos is sweet. Dark Eternal Night as fucking awesome, we pumped it over the speaker system in the hall at school the other day...
Totally hardcore Seriously though, most of their music is full of win. FULL OF IT!!!! Pump it in your car when doing bad things
Through Here Eyes is amazing, but Home doesn't deserve to be over 12 minutes long. Not that I dislike it, but yea.
I like some of their stuffs, but then again I haven't even heard most of their albums. But yeah I have mad respect for this band 'cause all them are masters in the instruments they play. Another Day Space Dye Vest These two are my favorites.
Blind Faith, Another day, Take the time, Trial of Tears, As I am, In the name of God, Stream of counsinceness ( epic !!!!! ) and hollow years are my favorite. go try! edit: Only a matter of time. /Recommends Live at budokan! edit2: http://youtube.com/watch?v=IBPD8tyrJIQ
Dream Theater is one of the most amazing bands I've ever heard. I don't think there's a single song by them that I don't like. And about the only thing I don't like about them is their sometimes-cheesy power metal-inspired lyrics. Oh and that their singer sometimes tries to sound like James Hetfield.
" Climbing endless stairs Leading to the choking room Eager to explore His most shocking mysteries " Now, putting it into a very dirty and very wrong context.... oh my...
I'm a huge fan of dream theater, and I'm seeing them in Vancouver may 6th on their progressive nation tour with opeth, three, and between the buried and me. . It will be my first concert!
your going to the vancouver show? if you dont have your tickets now, I dont think theres any left. :/
Yeah, I figured. I may not even attend because none of my friends have interest in anything guitar heavy groups/music..you name it. lawlz. My last hope is to convince my girlfriend to come with me, but studying for exams come first. I'm actually considering going alone as sad as that may seem lol. I'm really stoked on seeing them live though.
