AIFF audio

    okay -- how can i manhandle AIFF files on a computer running on XP? are there any multi-track applications that i can use?

    foobar's not a multi-track thing, is it? ... i mean, i tried audacity -- but let's just say that what i got wasn't what i was after.

    try using audacity (which is free). you may need to get a plug in for it. if not, just convert it a mp3 or wav and start using audacity

    using anything other than audacity you may have to pay for

    *bump* -- how do i convert an AIFF (which is an apple format, i found out) file to a normal WAV audio file?

    i tried that (i think it's the trial version) and it couldn't even detect them.

    AIFF is supported in iTunes- here's how you can convert songs in iTunes:

    1) Add the song to your iTunes library.
    2) Go to Edit > Preferences > Advanced > Importing.
    3) Change the filetype to whatever you want and the bitrate to what you want (higher is more quality.) Click OK when you're done.
    4) Find your song, right click it and then choose Convert Selection to *whatever*.

    yeah, so could i use those converted files in anything other than iTunes? :)

    Probably, but usually if you read about what you're downloading, instead of blindly listening to what we say, you should be able to figure things out.

    I use FL Studio 7. It reads AIFF and Wav. As far as conversion I do what Razer suggested and use iTunes to convert them. Then they'll work in any multi-track sequencer.
