Honestly, I don't know if animals are capable of practicing an organized religion. However, if they did, I have a feeling it would be something to do with regular licking of certain areas. Just based on what my dog does. It's their version of prayer, I guess.
Animals are engaged in organized religion every day. Did everyone suddenly forget humans are animals?
If animals were Christian, they'd be offended by the fact that you're equating humans as animals. "Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the air, and brought them to Adam to see what he would call them. And whatever Adam called each living creature, that was its name." - Genesis something-something or other. Humans rule over animals according to the Bible, so if animals are Christian, they're glad to be of our service. So I guess the animals that attack us are like extremist sects or something.
Well, to give a boring answer there is evidence that animals such as chimps and elephants can follow ritualistic ceremony, if not partaking in actual religion.
If you look at my cats, the same thing goes with them. It's like there's some unspoken agreement between them all to meet in one location, and then just kinda sit there, swinging their tails for about ten minutes. Then, generally, they get bored, or one pisses the other off, but it's still vaguely ritualistic. Almost the same time every day, or every other day, about the same place, but the exact same thing.
My cats just hiss at each other. Then again, that probably could be taken as evidence of organised religion haha.
Possibly. I've just noticed that in the past month or two though, so maybe they just started doing it, because they're all getting older, and want to do even less of nothing. Only together!
And what about that description makes them pagan? Meeting in one location, arguing and hissing, or doing nothing... sounds more like the situation between Palestine and Israel to me.
I asked my mom this, and you know what she told me? "What the hell are you talking about?" None of my family members entertain this thought. Ever.
Question: if animals were Christian, would there be a huge backlash over the animals casted to be in Harry Potter movies?
I don't know. Depends on if they're radical Christians or not. I remember my mom getting pissed over the Harry Potter is Evil thing. She's a Christian, sure, but she gets that it's fiction. Although, banning us from watching Charmed was a huge contradiction. So, yeah, if they're radical Christians, they'd probably do so. I have one now. According to most Bibles, or religious texts, it's wrong to eat pork. If animals follow religions, do you think they'd be disturbed that most food (at least for dogs, cats, etc.) contains some form of pork?
Maybe. Just something interesting I thought about earlier though. I was listening to a radio show online and they started talking about pork sausage, and how it was not only bad for you, but it was against most religious laws to eat pork. So, I was feeding the dog today, and I saw that his food has pork in it, and it occurred to me.
It depends on whether it's for a religious purpose or not. Wait, nevermind. Any work on the Sabbath is prohibited.
