Sounds like a good idea.

And does it seem like a problem to anyone here that I don't wish to practice any religion whatsoever?

 

So, I enjoyed tonights new episodes of the big bang theory and how i met your mother.

 

None at all. It is any person's unalienable right to practice religion or not practice as they wish.

 

I wish a bunch of people would get together and tell that to my parents. Every time we get around to religion, I have to stay quiet, because if I tell them that I in fact, do not support, etc., any religion, they'll go all nuclear and disown me or something. Now, that wouldn't be a problem, if I actually had the ability to get my own place, and support myself.

 

Family eventually gets over it, most of the time. They just want to know that you are going to be ok, and for a family that has promise of an afterlife, whether it be reincarnation or Heaven, it's comforting to know that their children will have that as well. It's more of a wanting for you to be ok after death, more than a OMFG PRACTICE RELIGION.

 

I can understand that, but I literally asked my mom not too long ago "what would you say if I said I didn't believe in God?" And you know what she said? Well, I can't remember exactly what she said, but she said something along the lines of "I'd want to know why" and later on that day something about me not wanting to be a part of the family. Maybe she'll change her tune, but I don't see it.

You should see how ballistic she gets though, when I do the pantagrams and all of the symbols that she doesn't get. Sometimes, I admit, I do it to annoy her, but I honestly have researched every symbol that I like, so that I know the background. Hell, she even got all psycho when I first showed her the heartagram, which she knows is a BAND SYMBOL. I tried over and over again to tell her that it was pretty much the modern Yin and Yang (which she seems to be fine with, as she's pretty into Chinese stuff), but she was all "it creeps me out, it's like it's some sort of Pagan symbol or some demonic thing." Well, mom, the only reason Pagans are portrayed as bad is something called the Catholic Church, and look at how corrupt and bastardized they are. (No offense intended to Catholics, by the way.)

I'm so totally bored, that I figured I'd post in some threads. Eventually, I had this growing chain of threads that I was the last person to post in.

 

Yeah that tends to happen when no one else is posting

 

I figured more people would be posting though. Maybe it's lurk time, I dunno. However, I would like to see people's responses to my Scorpions thread. I'm sorry, I can't get over how good that album was.

 

The only song I've ever heard by them is Rock You Like a Hurricane.

 

Then you need to go to Youtube and search "Scorpions Hour 1" and "Scorpions We Will Rise Again". They're both great songs.

I like the new album better than their old stuff. I dunno why, but I just do. Don't get me wrong, their old stuff is good too, but I just like the way this new stuff sounds better.

We Will Rise Again was really good. I might have to check it out when I get some free time.

 

That's gotta be my favorite song off the whole album. Somehow, it reminded me of Linkin Park. Don't ask how, but it did.
