I played with Nate the other night and it was lagging SO bad. We barely could get the 2 games we played in. He won the first time, I won the second.
Unfortunately, if you're going against a high speed character like Fox/Falco you're screwed. And Lucario's down+b attack is like, specially made for Ike. I've whooped some of my friends many a time when going against Ike. Cario is very situational though... since his attacks increase as he gains more damage. Anyone getting much into Bowser's infinite jump trick? I have yet to try it out, but looks like it could be very entertaining. Or how about the 'wavebouncing' tech that's being discussed at SSBB forums?
I've found Lucario to be one of the most useful characters in the game, especially for things like the 100 man brawl or the 15-Minute Brawl. I've heard of this "Wavebouncing" but have no idea what it actually is
Since you can change the controls for the name that you use in Brawl, people started experimenting with different control schemes. Turns out if you assign your C-Stick to do special attacks (normally B attacks), you can get some really interesting effects. Normally you would have to press control stick+B to do special moves. But this way, you can do B moves without using analog at all. So, for example, if you run in one direction, jump, and jam the C-Stick backwards with Lucario, the blowback of his side B move actually pushes Lucario back. You know, what, it's hard to explain. Here's a video of someone else explaining it. I like the name B-Sticking better, since there's no wave or bounce involved. It's still under discussion on whether or not this can actually be useful in play or not.
It could change the way a lot of characters are played in competitive play. Particularly Lucas, Lucario, and Yoshi. Which is interesting since I play the latter two. With Yoshi, it results in being able to execute a defensive egg toss (tossing an egg while being launched backwards... I wanna try it) and with Lucario the side specials also kick back.
With Ike, I did find him Super-defensive for attacks and Killer for one or two hit offensive. Counter is amazing with him! Maybe that'd help against high speed characters?
Just got a Wii and Brawl. and im LoVin it! one thing though for using the gamecube controller, in able to just use that one and not the wiimote/nunchuck do i have to set it aside and just let it turn itself off? cus thats gettin annoying to me cus its just sitting there ON!
Just have a wiimote on but don't use it. On another note, I've actually gotten used to the wiimote controller. I don't ever actually use throws though, so that's why. I'll probably switch once I start using throws more in my gameplay. But my Lucario, I must say, is getting pretty badass.
after playing for a solid 6 hours (who needs sleep!) i decided to dedicate that time to master this game in Wiimote style and i more better at this than with the gamecube controller...so eh its cool. (i waannntt toonnnn liiiinnnkkkk!)
