So I didn't watch the Grammys. What were the highlights?

Here's the winners. Of course, Foo Fighters won "Best Rock Album" and "Best Hard Rock Performance".

I was laughing at "Album of the Year" though.

 

Did I actually just read a magazine describe KsE as 'pop-metal power clowns'?

Adam D might justify the clown part. But pop metal? Because their songs get SO much airplay

How the fuck did a song from Christ Illusion win another Grammy? Now I remember why I pay no attention to those awards.

 

The awards this year were complete shit aside from a couple decent performances (mainly Kanye West, Foo Fighters, and Josh Groban with Andrea Bocelli). The nominations and the winners were a complete joke IMO.

 

Kanye's a total prick, but you're right, he definitely deserved to win over this other shite.

Some of the nominations for 'Best Metal Performance' were decent, but that's just me. But Slayer winning, again? The fuck is this world coming to?

 

When Herbie F'N Hancock (I always think of Tommy Boy ) wins AOTY...you know you're fucked.

 

I think when Kanye acts like an asshole and bitches about not winning and shit like that, he's putting on an act. I think it's his way of getting publicity and keeping his name out there and keeping everyone talking about him. Not a brilliant way to get fans but he's still selling a lot of albums and getting a lot of publicity so it works. Personally, I like his music and for the most part, I don't think he's a complete dick I could see why people would though.

EDIT: His performance with Daft Punk was filled with a ridiculous amount of energy and his performance of "Mama" was inspiring. I was actually surprised he got through it.

 

Yeah true, I think you've got a point. Sort of a, "any news is good news" thing. No, I'm not kissing your ass, I just agree

 

It's kind of like how 50 Cent insults other rappers in some of his songs. It's to start something and keep a "fued" going to keep garnering attention. I think it's a business/marketing move that some rap artists like to use.

 

on the bright side, if the Best New Artist curse continues, we won't hear any more horrible songs from Amy Winehouse.
