Agree with you there Harlz, Australian radio just loves to play freaking Britney Spears and Kylie Minogue. It may get radio play on a few rock stations but the big commercial stations I'm not sure about. In saying that, they do need to release a heavier track. In Pieces would be a good choice I think... As for NMS and its political stance, I think with the US election campaigns in full swing, releasing this as their next single may be a risk they (or Warner) are not willing to take? Pink released 'Mr President' to some backlash and that wasnt even during election mode...Imagine the uproar if they released NMS....bring it! hehe Anyway, thats just my 2 cents worth
Triple J will play it, but that'd be it for Sydney stations at least. And Triple J plays songs like 3 times before moving on to something else, so yea.
triple M might bang it ... but they haven't put on anything new for an insanely long time. i'm just, like ... they had the guts to record the song. and, yeah, right now, it'd do quite well.
I think the screaming might just get cut, or there could be a single mix where it's replaced. Or, it'll probably still get played,
Somehow this news doesn't excite me the slightest after how poor the last two videos from Minutes to Midnight have been. And No More Sorrow being the next single because it's politically charged and our election time is coming up? Please insert *vomit* here, that would be far worse of an idea and would make them huge sell outs, but then again I kind of hate No More Sorrow lyrically anyway just because of that. I'm just ready for the fourth album already since I hate Minutes to Midnight so much, hopefully it will be out in two more years and will make up for this crappy marketable product they call an album.
So you're saying making politically-charged music is "selling out?" Tell that to the entire acid rock/hippie movement of the 60s and early 70s during Vietnam. Tell that to the wartime radio stations during World War II. Tell that to 80s metal bands that wrote songs about the Cold War. You basically just put Linkin Park on the same level as Iron Maiden (2 Minutes to Midnight), Pink Floyd (Us and Them), Bob Dylan (The Times They Are a-Changin'), and John Lennon (Imagine), and called them all sellouts.
over in australia, several times, i heard radio edits of "one step closer" where they just cut the whole bridge out.
Yeah, that seems more plausible than anything. God forbid they ever make one of those single edits like Roadrunner bands seem to do usually.
Hmmm.. Given up eh? Why not NMS or IP?? Those are better singles in my opinion. I just really want the last one to be LOAR
I'm hoping that the band decides to change their single to No More Sorrow. If not, then hope for Leave Out All The Rest/In Pieces/No More Sorrow as the last single. Of course there's always a possibility for a sixth single that's either radio only or USA only.
well considering theyve already started filming for Given Up id say you're too late LPs last couple vids have had some meaning and itd be nice to see them make a vid of their harder rock songs on the album its the side of LP i miss lol
yeah lol theres been plenty of times where i hoped LP and even other bands would make a video for a song and it NEVER happened....
