The most amazing part about these screens is that all of them come from a pre-alpha build (which explains the buggy ponytail) meaning that, even though it already looks great...the final product is going to look so much better. Who else is excited for this game?
I think it'll definitely be at least worth playing with the direction the series seems to be taking now.
I haven't played Tomb Raider in fecking years, but didn't it kind of fall of the map due to being consistently shite? A bit like Crash Bandicoot once Naughty Dog sold the rights to it.
It was shit until Crystal Dynamics took over after the terrible Angel of Darkness. The past two games Legend and Anniversary have been exceptional titles. Anniversary moreso because it learned from the mistakes of Legend.
Ah fair enough. Didn't know it had changed hands. Those screenshots look mighty impressive. These new 'battle strategies' struck me as having a lot of potential. Sounds like you'll have quite alot of freedom. Have you got a PS3/360 yet Derek?
I have a 360. And yes, I agree that it's good they gave Lara her own identity. She looks like her own person now, and not like Angelina Jolie or Keira Knightley. =)
She looked like Keira Knightly? Anyway, I'll probably check this out. Looks like they're finally stepping it up.
They stepped it up for the last two games, actually. Anniversary was the best game since Tomb Raider 3 in my opinion. I recommend trying it out. Yeah it's slightly easy, but it's still very fun to play. Underworld looks like it's both going to be hard, and also better than Legend and Anniversary in every way. They used gymnasts for the motion capture, and when she runs really fast she actually has this look of exertion on her face, it's awesome. Also her hair starts drooping on her face in real time when it rains, and she occasionally has to wipe it away from her eyes....the same eyes that squint and blink rapidly as water pours into them like in real life. Sure these are merely graphical things, but the attention to detail alone is worth a round of applause.
Yea I might get this for my PS3. Though I'd like to hope that Final Fantasy XIII will blow it out of the water for graphics
