    Yeah, the MK4s shouldn't be too bad. I just don't know what reliability is like with them.

    Well I need a reliable car. The toronado was good with that for about two years...and then it lost all reliability whatsoever. :lol:

    By the way...this is my toronado. Even though it was made in 1990, it screams 80's:

    I guess you didn't hear then that I'm single now and have been for some time. Then again nobody really did so I technically just let the cat out of the bag.

    No need to fret though. The reason you didn't know is because I didn't really want people knowing my personal life (or hers) but, in light of some recent posts referring to us as a couple, I have to air that detail so people don't keep wishing us luck or that we get married, when it's not gonna happen due to us now becoming just friends. :lol:

    But yeah..let's get back to what we were talking about before this :).

    MK4 reliability is a crapshoot. VW basically f**ked up pretty bad there.. and it took much of that generation to get the cars right. Everybody I know with a 99 model year has some kind of issues... but they seemed to get better with time with the 2000s and later. I guess looking at service records is the best way to get a good one.

    I'd recommend getting something better than just a plain jane jetta.. maybe a 1.8T or VR6. Then you can have some fun with it.

    Derek.. that toronado was MAD expensive for its day.. it was a high-end car. I think it was 20000 plus.. which 20 years ago was like paying for a low end bmw today

    I would like to get a really nice car which over time I can customize with some nice body kits, a killer exhaust (like yours) as well as a nice sound system.

    Of course an Ipod hookup and custom paint job with some graphics would be pretty sweet in it's own right.

    *EDIT* Fuck yeah..my car was the BMW of the 1990's. Believe it bitches. :lol:

    yeah.. oldsmobile was the american luxury car.. nowadays there really isn't an american made luxury car brand anymore.

    Yes, solid is good (depending on the color and quality) but I think Derek meant some ridiculous multi color ricer crap :lol:
