So I sucked it up and watched the link that LostWound sent. HOLY FUCKING SHIT! I NEED TO SEE THIS MOVIE!
Haha, you're not the only one. I watched it just before I went to work. Well, I guess the link I provided doesn't have the video up anymore; oh well, only two days until the trailer is released in HD quality and the such. I loved it when The Joker says..." Like me! " lol.
I just saw the trailer in full at the theater, and holy shit this movie needs to come out now. Heath can make the Joker both look and sound like th Jack Nicholson version in a bunch of parts and the effects for this movie are crazy. I am so pumped for this movie!
http://www.thegothamtimes.com/page1.htm Don't know if everyone noticed this link. It's in the top right corner of the site Friskey posted. ^ Pretty interesting too.
Can't wait for this movie. Look forward to it more & more everyday. The trailer is great, it needs to come out now!
That was a fake poster that was circulating a long time before Heath Ledger was even announced as The Joker.
I just saw the trailer from watching I Am Legend an hour ago... yeah, Heath definitely looks evil enough in my books. Sadistic freak... I love it
IMAX Prologue. Shhh...don't tell anybody I gave you this. Good news is that someone disguised this on YT, so it'll be taken down probably, but not right away.
No it ain't, just checked it...like I said, the person who uploaded this completely named it something entirely different to get through the censors.
In my opinion, this prologue told the story of The Joker's "rise" just right. Because in essence it doesn't tell us anything, but it does paint a picture for us. At the end of "Batman Begins", The Joker was already a homicidal maniac on the loose. I think it can be assumed that some time has passed between 'Begins and the beginning of TDK. In this prologue, we learn that The Joker's name is already out there in the criminal underworld. Common thugs don't quite know what to make of him, but he's the man with the plan. He's a criminal genius. He planned that entire heist, found just the right guys for the job, recruited them one by one individually, and turned them all against each other so he could reap the rewards of the crime himself. So, while this prologue doesn't tell the literal story of how Joker went from point A to point F, it illustrates just how clever and ruthless he is, and provides a potent example of just how he's got what it takes to become the iconic menace to Gotham City that we know he is. In addition, the line, "I believe whatever doesn't kill you, simply makes you....stranger" is pretty cool because it obviously is reverant to the character's roots in twisted humor and bad jokes, but also it hints at some kind of origin without spelling it out. Something happened to this guy. We don't know what, we may never know...but something bad happened to this guy, and he came out of it as a freak with a new identity and he ENJOYS this. That just nails it for me, all in one sentence. This film is NOT about The Joker's character arch, as Nolan has stated that he is an absolute, and just bursts onto the scene as fully formed maniac just like in the first Batman comics. He's the shark in "Jaws", the wild card that's a threat to everyone in the story. The Joker may steal this movie, but I firmly believe that the story will still be competely about the journey of Bruce Wayne (and Harvey Dent too to an extent). Just my thoughts. I'm just very excited because from what I'm gathering, Nolan's putting so much of what I like about The Joker on the screen, and one of those things is mystery.
Thanks for the FANTASTIC add! Dunno if this has been posted, but its the first trailer for the film (not the teaser, nor the prologue). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Em7gB1SAGpE
This movie could be the best Batman movie ever made (I still think the original was the best but this could maybe beat it). However, I don't think it'll be close to the best movie ever made.
