I'm hoping for a better addition to the bill...

Why are so many people bagging on Coheed? They put on a great live show and have more musical talent than most bands out nowadays.

If they really pushed for it, I'm sure they would have some type of say. I mean, they managed to get a big advance from Warner, so I'm sure they could get some Canadian tourdates. It isn't like they wouldn't sell.

on a related note, according to C&C's website, theyll be in Europe on those dates. Maybe not starting off the tour?

I'm not the biggest Coheed fan, but I agree they put on a great live show.

Well, the Warner advance only came after months of squabbles, but I see what you're saying. Every band I've heard address this issue claim they can only put the good word in for where they wanna tour, and hope for the best. I could be wrong, though.

My girlfriend apparently loves them, I've never even heard of them before that. I checked out some of their music and I don't really like it....I mean....it's ok, just not really my type of music I guess. I would have much rather had My Chemical Romance or Madina Lake or any artist from PR 2007 open for them.

I don't care how godly Coheed is supposed to be, I've never been fond of the lead singer's voice and I cannot understand LP's obsession with touring with artists that have absolutely no similarity in sound to them. To me this is a pretty bad bill, and it's clear I'll only be going to this for Linkin Park. Even if I liked C&C the two bands just do not go together well at all. It's a clash of genres.

Well, all of the bands that were kind of LP's peers really dropped off the scene. Which bands are really similar to them that you would like them to tour with?

Plus, LP has always seemed to like introducing people to a wide range of sounds in their own music and in their tours.

Because Madina Lake and My Chemical Romance sound anything like Linkin Park.

That's what I was thinking.

Like it or not, bands like Coheed, MCR, and Taking Back Sunday are Linkin
Parks peers now. Those are the bands who dominate modern rock radio along with LP. Look at the bright side... at least they're not touring with Hinder and
    Nickelback.

Whoa man, I didn't say they were godly...

A lot of people don't like Coheed, but there's no reason to get so worked up if LP decides to tour with them. Can't you just go to a concert to have a good time? You don't need to worship every band on the bill.

Although I absolutely love MCR, Taking Back Sunday, and almost all the other bands on the Projekt Revolution line, I always hope to myself that a day may come when Linkin Park tours with a Band like Three Days Grace, Breaking Benjamin, Nine Inch Nails, or Red.

From Coheed & Cambria's Myspace Bulletin:

So it's definitely official that they are opening for LP.

More tour dates would be nice, lol.

This is acutally kind of funny because that means that LP personally invited Coheed to two tours in a row (They were originally going to be on Projekt Revolution but chose Warped Tour instead). I guess LP really wanted to play with them.

They must really like Coheed, I suppose.

I wonder if any other bands will be added to the bill? I haven't seen them tour with just one other band before (at least in the states).

OMFG!!! More dates have announced, and they're coming to my city on the first date! Two of my favorite bands, at the top of my list of bands I have to see before I die, touring together. I am unbelievably stoked.
