This month's edition of Rolling Stone magazine features a short interview with Linkin Park vocalist Chester Bennington. He answers questions as to how the perfect music company would operate (a la computer giants Microsoft and Google), what he believes music will sound like in ten years ("an amazing electronic collage of things that we’ve never heard before") and the social significance of music today.

Click here to read the digital version of the magazine; Chester's insert is on page 108.

    Thanks to EagleMorph!

Hmm, very interesting indeed. I wonder why they chose Chester?

It is a good question though: "what music will sound like in the next 10 years" cause you really can't tell.

I find it funny that Chester has gone from having like a phobia of anything computer related to this.

I might not have any idea what I'm talking about but Chester's answers didn't make any sense to me.

On the contrary. Radiohead's (Saul Williams', NIN's, etcetera) type of view is total independence. Chester's is total dependence.

I don't think he really thought this through.

Just to clarify, I meant that I didn't see how what he's suggesting would be any better.

I believe he's trying to say that the labels should split the profits more evenly with the artist, as opposed to taking most of it for themselves. I could be (and probably am) completely wrong.

He seemed to be saying that all bands on a label should share the profits each of them makes, and have in turn a lot invested in the label's financial success.

...I think that is ridiculous myself.

Ahh, gotcha. It sounds good on paper, but I don't really see how it's going to work. Chesters answers kinda reminds me of some stoners incoherent
    ramblings.
