I just bought a Mac a couple of weeks ago, and everything runs smoothly on it, but recently my iChat application won't open.. I can't instant message anyone at all. I've restarted my computer, I quit out of the application and started it up again but it just won't open. What happens is that whenever I click on iChat, the application will be open in the dock, but the box for me to sign into aim won't show up on the screen. Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it..? I've looked on google and Yahoo! Answers but no one seems to know the answer on how to fix my problem.
iChat sucks. Try a program called Adium (google it). It's got a ton more features and supports a million IM networks
How does Adium compare to Trillian? I've never tried Trillian and now that I know of two multi-chat network programs, which do you like more and why?
Adium is free and open-sourced. Trillian has a free version, but you need to pay for the Pro version. That alone wins it for me.
Actually I finally got iChat to work. I think I downloaded Adium though, and it's really nice but I didn't see a webcam feature or anything. I'll check again, but thanks!
