    The only hope I have is that they have backups and one of the other admins who isn't going to jail restores it on a server hosted in some country that doesn't give a flying fuck about piracy

    what I've been reading is that everything was raided. if that includes the backups, I'm not sure..... but it's as good as gone as I see it :(

    Any server administrator with half a brain saves backups in multiple places in geographically diverse areas

    So it says theyre investigating the users too. Does this basically mean that any of the big time users will be sued/arrested as well?

    My guess is that the big time users will be sued. On the Cleveland Police's official site, the operation was called "Ark Royal" and that the guy who ran Oink is basically busted for the site AND for money. Through donations, he made tons of money. So my assumption is that he will be busted for the money/site and that the users who donated will be investigated...... then, if at all, the users.

    How the hell is him taking donations illegal? You can voluntarily give money to ANYBODY by your own free will without breaking the law.

    Look, OiNK had almost 200,000 users. Unless you were one of the top few uploaders, I wouldn't worry.

    No. Canadian ISPs just block access to the Demon; I think.
