new Down is good, but compared to Down II, it's a major disappointment. the new Ministry, however, really gives new meaning to going out on top.
It's a pretty good album. I didn't like it at first, then I loved it, now I just think it's pretty good (if that makes any sense). I'd give it about a 8/10. I actually thought it was better than Down II, but it doesn't even come close to NOLA. New Ministry pretty much sounds like the last two Ministry albums, but they're a "trilogy" so I guess it's excusable.
Today I've just stayed at home alternating between watching Seinfeld and listening to Meshuggah. Good combination.
Wow, fuck. I didn't know the new Xasthur was already out. It's good, but the drums are too loud in the mix.
Apparently Disney doesn't like metal. According to Shadows Fall, Lamb of God, and Machine Head. Wow, what a bunch of assholes.
I'm sure many will be interested to know that Carcass is reuniting to play next years Wacken Open Air festival. Link with details via Blabbermouth.
I'm not sure if there's a rip yet but The Dillinger Escape Plan have added a new song to their myspace player. It's called Lurch, and basically it's the spazzy noisy stuff that people either love or hate them for. http://myspace.com/dillingerescapeplan
Dillinger, Converge are sort of the "roots" of the genre. The Human Abstract is a fairly good band too. Check 'em out. If you want the official definition, according to Wikipedia, it's "a style of metal recognized for a high level of technical musicianship". ---- I also found found Brian Fair's comments on this whole Disney thing rather amusing.
I've been listening to it today, it's pretty solid. Is it just me or is Greg Puciato (second left) starting to look like Trent Reznor as well as being able to sing like him? Oh, and Bossk's new EP is really good too.
Yeah, he does look a little bit like Trent now. On another Dillinger related note, seeing Chris Pennie playing drums in the new Coheed & Cambria video is just weird.
http://www.jamnow.com/dillingerescapeplan New new song, 'Milk Lizard', played live as well as probably the best interview ever. Tim: Claudio should lend him some hair
That interview was awesome. A bald joke... now that's just mean. I hate to keep turning this into the "Official Dillinger Escape Plan Thread", but fuck it. Some rehearsal footage of the band performing new song "Nong Eye Gong" here.
I know, I was just thinking of that joke about Claudio's hair in the interview. Sorry to any bald people reading. I don't get how one of the comments is just "BRING BACK DIMITRI" over and over, being as Nong Eye Gong sounds pretty similar to something they would have recorded with him in the band. Then again, it is Blabbermouth and quite a few of their members seem to be there just to be antagonistic.
I can't think of one band who doesn't get endless amounts of shit on Blabbermouth. I happen to think the comments are funny in a sad, pathetic kinda way.
