    I could do octal and really fuck with you all. Since 13 is 15 in octal, people would just be flat out confused :lol:

    Base 2 = Binary
    Base 8 = Octal
    Base 10 = Decimal (what we use every day)
    Base 16 = Hex


    Of course, you can use any number for the base, but those are the common ones used in computers.

    In binary, the highest digit used is 1
    In octal, the highest digit is 7
    In decimal, it's 9
    In hex, it's 15 (10-15 are represented with A-F)

    See where this is going, if it's base X, the highest digit that can be used in the representation of that number is X-1.

    So 13 is:
    Binary - 1101
    Octal - 15
    Decimal - 13 (duh)
    Hex - D
