    What are some of your favorite actors or actresses? Feel free to elaborate or talk about specific movies they've been in or roles they've played.

    I can't really say any actresses have really stood out at me in terms of skill, sadly. Perhaps Jodie Foster would be the main one that I could say has had somewhat of an impact on my tastes. Charlize Theron would be second.

    In terms of actors though:

    01. Matt Damon
    Matt has a great nose for amazing film roles (The Brothers Grimm, aside. :lol:). Besides playing Jason Bourne in my personal favorite film franchise; the Bourne trilogy, Matt has been in some other amazing movies, many of which rank in my top 20 of all time. There's Good Will Hunting (which he won an Oscar for writing), Rounders (the best poker movie ever), The Talented Mr. Ripley, the Ocean's trilogy, Syriana, The Departed. Even when he chooses comedic roles like Stuck On You, or his cameo in the hilarious Eurotrip, he seems to always deliver a memorable performance. Even when he's stepping outside the box and doing skits with Jimmy Kimmel Live or guest appearing on Will and Grace, he's hilarious. Amazing actor.

    Recommended:
    01. Bourne Trilogy
    02. Good Will Hunting
    03. Rounders
    04. The Departed

    02. Mark Wahlberg
    Mark is one of the more underrated actors in Hollywood, I find. He delivered a very memorable performance in The Departed, and was also great in the gritty and violent Four Brothers. He was exceptional in Shooter and played a fun role in The Italian Job. When it comes to action or drama movies, I feel confidence in a Wahlberg film.

    Recommended:
    01. The Departed
    02. Four Brothers
    03. The Italian Job

    03. Clive Owen
    Perhaps I'm biased because I just finished watching Derailed, but Clive Owen is a very talented actor. Whether he's in artsy film-noir dramas (Sin City), action movies (Children of Men, Bourne Identity), or thrillers (Derailed), he always does a great job. I can't wait to see Shoot 'Em Up on Friday.

    Recommended:
    01. Children of Men
    02. Sin City
    03. Derailed

    Honorable mentions:
    04. Edward Norton (Fight Club, The Illusionist, 25th Hour, American History X)
    05. Jason Statham (Snatch, Lock Stock..., Crank, Transporter)
    06. Tom Cruise (Last Samurai, Collateral)
    07. Jet Li (Unleashed, Hero, Fearless)

    Actors

    01:: Johnny Depp
    Yes, it's a generic answer when it comes to favorite actors but honestly, I haven't found a movie with Johnny Depp in it that I didn't like. Without behind the scenes footage, you can just tell that the other actors and actresses on stage feed off the energy that Johnny Depp puts into his performances and because of that, he plays central characters very often. Most recently, Johnny Depp as Jack Sparrow, is a perfect example. Personally, I don't think the Pirates trilogy would have been half as good if it didn't have Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp.

    Recommended Films:
    Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
    Edward Scissorhands
    Pirates of the Caribbean: Curse of the Black Pearl
    Finding Neverland
    Blow

    02:: Will Smith
    Obviously he's in a ton of blockbuster films but his performance in the Pursuit of Happyness convinced me that he really is one of the greatest actors of our time (in my opinion, of course).

    Recommended Films:
    Pursuit of Happyness
    Enemy of the State
    Bad Boys
    The Legend of Bagger Vance
    Ali

    02:: Shia LaBeouf
    Though he just recently got into serious acting, he's shown great talent and will be in many great films to come. He's also shown that he is able to act in very diverse movies, from a movie about Golf to a movie about Robots to a movie about a Killer living next door.

    Recommended Films:
    Transformers
    The Greatest Game Ever Played
    Disturbia
    A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints
    Holes

    03:: Samuel L Jackson
    Yes. Samuel L Jackson. I said it. He's been in a variety of movies and proven himself to be a great actor as well, although I don't think he needs an explanation :lol:

    Recommended Films:
    Pulp Fiction
    Snakes on a Plane
    Resurrecting the Champ
    The Negotiator
    Die Hard: With a Vengeance

    Actresses

    01:: Keira Knightley
    She has been a variety of roles, much like the rest of my list. Throughout her films, he characters generally go through change which alters the personality of her character completely and she is able to do this flawlessly. For example, in the Pirates trilogy, she starts out as a damsel in distress but as the trilogy progresses she learns how to sword fight and Orlando Bloom ends up being the damsel in distress.

    Recommended Films:
    Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
    Domino
    Pride and Prejudice
    Love Actually
    The Jacket

    02:: Uma Thurman
    I'm tired of writing these long detailed responses :lol: Let's just say she's a great actress and has played valuable roles in a few of my favorite films.

    Recommended Films:
    Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2
    Pulp Fiction
    Be Cool
    The Producers

    03:: Charlize Theron

    Recommended Films:
    Monster
    Aeon Flux
    The Italian Job
    The Legend of Bagger Vance
    Men of Honor

    I'll just make lists with my favourite film or two starring each, seeing as my left shoulder is hurting. Maybe I'll add more later.

    Actors
    Jeff Bridges (The Big Lebowski, Thunderbolt and Lightfoot)
    Bill Murray (Garfield... not really, What About Bob?, Ghostbusters)
    Robert De Niro (Taxi Driver, The King Of Comedy)
    Nicolas Cage (Raising Arizona, The Weatherman)
    Steve Buscemi (Reservoir Dogs, The Big Lebowski)
    Jason Lee (Mallrats, Dogma)
    Don Cheadle (Reign Over Me, I'd also say the recent Danny Ocean films if I liked them)
    Christopher Walken (The Deer Hunter, True Romance)
    Shin Ka-Hyun (Save The Green Planet!)
    Alan Ruck (Ferris Bueller's Day off, and he was also in Scrubs as that patient in season two who wants to sue Elliott after she tells him he's going to die)

    Actresses
    Meg Ryan (When Harry Met Sally..., Joe vs The Volcano)
    Holly Hunter (Raising Arizona)

    Yep, I'll leave it at that for now.

    Oh yeah, and I found myself really enjoying Saul Williams' part in K-Pax even if it was relatively small, so if anyone more familiar with his acting wants to point me in the direction of another film he's been in it'd be nice. :)

    Actors:

    Johnny Depp, I believe he's the greatest actor of our time. With the variaty of movies he's made and his outstanding performances in everyone of them, it's an obvious choice.

    Zach Braff, he's hilarious in Scrubs and he really proofed that's he's a great actor, director and writer in Garden State.

    Bruce Willis, even though he's made mostly action movies I think he's a great actor. Really convincing as Hartigan in Sin City and you just can't get around the Die Hard series.

    Honorable mentions:
    Matthew Perry because he's just brilliant as Chandler.
    Matthew Fox as Jack in Lost
    Mike Myers
    Steve Carrell for all his comedies, but definitely also for Little Miss Sunshine.

    Actresses:

    Natalie Portman, her roles in Garden State and V For Vendetta were totally opposite, but she was really convincing and showed lots of talent in both. I really have the feeling that I should watch more movies with her in them.

    Evangeline Lilly, just as Kate. :lol:

    Kristen Bell, she's just a real talent, it just shines of her when she plays a part.

    Honorable mentions:
    Jennifer Aniston
    Reese Witherspoon in Walk The Line

    Actors
    1) Matt Demon
    Besides being in my favorite movie trilogy, The Bourne trilogy, he's a talented actor with a lot to bring to a movie. He acts confidently and when watching him and i believe in his character.

    I can't believe I missed Samuel L. Jackson. He was the most memorable character in my favourite film ever, Pulp Fiction. He'd probably go 2nd before Mark Wahlberg, actually.

    There's also Natalie Portman and Uma Thurman, who would probably go 2nd and 3rd in my list. Man, it was too later when I was thinking up these lists.

    Watch Closer.

    One of my favorite movies of all time. Most people find it boring, but I am having the feeling you're gonna like that one. Plus, she's pole dancing in this one lol.
