For anyone who...you know, likes the band, Avenged Sevenfold's new song "Critical Acclaim" is up for listening over at their MySpace.

    http://www.myspace.com/avengedsevenfold

A 2 minute clip was available for listening, but the band said that there was so much positive feedback that they put the whole song up.

I still stand by my statement that the drummer is the only talent in this band. And if you're gonna have chugga chugga breakdowns, at least scream or not sing in that annoying Axel Rose voice. I don't like it when my chugga chugga breakdowns are mixed with radio rock vocals.

It was okay though, better than the stuff on City of Evil, that's for sure.

I ALWAYS come first when it comes to criticizing (lol thread title) bands like this.

What really gets me is the lame ass excuses they make for not screaming. M. Shadows (dumbest fucking name ever btw), COULDN'T scream anymore because
of how much it hurt his voice. Yet him (and Matt from Trivium) try to play it off like "well we never really liked that kind of music anyway." If they had any balls they'd just come out and say "our vocal cords can't take the abuse and metalcore is a sinking ship anyway so we decided to sound like GNR (Avenged Sevenfold)
    or a late 80's thrash-metal band (Trivium)."

Sorry for the long-winded rant. Bands like this just do that to me.

I love Confessions and City of Evil, but this new song sucks.

I really love the new song, I think they're bringing back their heavier sound but maintaining their City Of Evil sound at the same time. I'm interested in seeing how the rest of the album will turn out.

The talking during, and the lame singing towards the end kills the song for me. It's like they threw a bunch of random shit together and formed it into something vaguely resembling a song. I liked the backup vocals, but that's about the only thing. The heavy intro and outro would be alot cooler if they weren't the only heavy parts of the song.

    It's pretty cool.
Not up there with my favourite A7X songs, like Seize The Day, Unholy Confessions, Bat Country and Blinded In Chains, but still cool.

I don't mind it, but the breakdown's pretty iffy. Still not a patch on Unholy Confessions, but I'll definitely still check out the new album when it's out.

    New A7X sucks.

    End of story.

And I wholeheartedly agree with Chris on chugga chugga breakdowns and whoever called out Trivium too.

I repeat, new A7X and Trivium blow. Hard. With herpes.

Lawlz, thanks everyone who liked my description.

Now I should kind of actually listen to the song to see how shittastic it is, then eh?

OH NOEZ, THEY SED MUTHAFUCKA. *rolls eyes* Because we all know that metal = swearing unnecessarily.

...The talking ruined it, and so did the chorus. Otherwise, it's just the normal shit they spew out of their untalented assholes.

    M. Shadows, go fuck yourself. Kthnxbai. ^_^

I think its the best avenged sevenfold I've ever heard. I like how it doesn't have the annoying winnie voice so evident like in their last elbum
