Well, with the season coming down the stretch, I decided to make a thread. Post your predictions for playoff bearths, get pwned by me on baseball or bitch about Barry. All is welcome, so pop open a beer, sit back and enjoy the ball game.

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/standings

    Standings.

And I'm going for New York right here. Red hot after the break, Abreau, Cano and the left handed bats are picking up there end, plus Detroit is slumping. They can take advantage, take the Wild Card and gain some ground.

My Cardinals are sucking and Barry Bonds can go shove his oversized, juiced up head up his ass and jump off a cliff. :D

    Thank you Todd.

And you know what, your Cardnials had a pretty decent team that got hurt right out the gate. Plus, you guys need some left handed bats in that lineup.

Yeah, the lineup is decent, but it just doesn't seem to be working out as well as it did last year. Although I'm not that worried, it's not uncommon for teams to play like shit the season after winning the world series, I think they're just thinking "We won it last year, who cares what we do this year?"

Boston, this is New York knocking on your footsteps. 78 all over again baby.
And watch the AL for the rest of the year guys, it's gonna be a hot one.
We got the tight central, the tight east, the tight west, and tight wild card.

And LOL @ Boston and Eric Gange, looks like we won that one out.

Minnesota's closer in the Central than I thought.
Toronto's closer in the Wild Card than I thought.

not that it matters, cause this is how its gonna end up.

    Angels, Indians, Mariners, Yankees.

Meh, I think it's gonna be Boston, Anaheim, Seattle or New York and Detroit or Cleveland

actually what boston does right now doesn't mean shit, cause I think the Yankees will get number 27 this year...

barring hell freezing over in Atlanta.

As a Mariners fan I can tell you they won't win anything. They don't have any pitching. King Felix isn't doing great and everyone else is so spotty. Weaver especially. Red Sox will take the wildcard after NY passes them. Anaheim will take the west and Cleveland will snag the Central. I can't stand the yankees but they'll make the playoffs

Boston doesn't have consitant pitching either, so yeah.

    My predictions...

    AL EAST
    Boston / New York

    AL CENTRAL
    Cleveland

    AL WEST
Anaheim / Seattle (if yankees win upcoming series, i'll give it to seattle)

    AL WILD CARD
Detroit / Seattle / Anaheim (if they lose to new york this series) / New York

I think if Boston loses to New York, there season will just break and they'll mis the playoffs all together.

    NL EAST
    New York

    NL CENTRAL
    Chicago

    NL WEST
    Arizona / San Diego

    NL WILD CARD
    San Diego / Arizona

Basically, whoever finishes second in the west will get wild card.

Detroit is burning out. Bonderman isn't as sharp as he was and the only decent pitching from them is Verlander.

Same thing happened at the end of last year and it didn't hurt them too bad. Cleveland's in just as bad of shape. I'm still confident they'll make it.

Cleveland has CC, Carmona, Martinez, Barfield, Peralta, Sizemore and others. Bad shape? I think not. Detroit is done though, I can tell.

    Please tell me you're joking.

Detroit is not short on pitching. Ever heard of Verlander, Kenny Rodgers, and Bonderman? Zumaya and Todd Jones in the bullpen? They also have solid batting, for the most part. They haven't had pitching problems for a while now. Right now they're just in a rut and dealing with a few injury problems, such as Rodgers and Andrew Miller. As I already said, they went through the exact same thing as the season was winding down last year, and they still ended up doing fairly well.

Cleveland's problem is run scoring at the moment, and they haven't been much better than Detroit of late.

But can Zumaya play in big games? He didn't play in the ALCS last year, so I have no real clue. You're gonna need more than Rodgers and Bonderman. Bonderman being the guy on the decline. Verlander is the only consistant arm in that rotation.

Haven't been much better than Detroit. We'll see in tonights game.

And the Padres prove you don't need a lot of runs to win ball games. The only reason why San Diego isn't in first is because they're in a divsion with four playoff competing teams.
