http://www.nme.com/news/kanye-west/30267 "50 Cent has threatened to quit music if Kanye West's new album sells more than his."
50 Cent did a collaboration with Justin Timberlake... it's called "Ayo Technology" Pftt, he only did that to get popularity over Kanye, since JT is the one of the "hottest artist this summer"
im going to buy kanyes album and NEVER listen to it..just because i hate Rap/ Hip hop and want 50 done
Pfft.. Just thinking that I hate that song "Stronger" yeah, sure, it's something different for him.. but I seriosly can't stand that song.
They both had their merits, but Kanye lost his touch after College Dropout and 50 after Power of the Dollar. I'll check'em both out, but through friends instead. And Roxas, what's wrong with hip-hop? Rap I can understand, but get past the mainstream and into the underground. There are some intelligent artists out there.
Yeah, I'd start with Aesop Rock, Living Legends, Atmosphere and maybe even Handsome Boy Modeling School's first album.
Yeah, those are all good. I'd recommend El-P, too. However.. sometimes I don't mind getting crunk and pullin' out some Lil' Jon. There's nothing wrong with bad mainstream hip-hop when you don't take it seriously and just bounce along.
This is like saying buy a Flaw album to drive Adema out of the business. The question isn't "Which is better?", it's "Which is the lesser of two evils?".
I'm more of the hyphy kind of mainstream. Although technically it's not mainstream... here at least. It's bay area's response to crunk.
IMO, the lesser is Kanye. Both moan and whine about something, but Kanye made better music that wasn't about his "stick". And plus Kanye won me over for life when he put "some of them dyslexic, there favorite 50 cent song is 12 questions", I have no clue why.
Kanye is a way more talented artist/producer than 50 and so I like his music more! And I know that 50 will never quit... it's just a publicity stunt. Eminem and Jay-Z, they both got out of retirement.
