And I feel like I'm in turmoil deep down, but in the middle there's nothing and I'm not trying to conceal the surface.

I know how you feel, I think. My parents fight so much, sometimes even in the middle of the night, I've gotten used to it. I try to stop it, like jump in the middle, scream and stuff, but they never listen, as expected.
It's scary how intense fights can get...

JD, love, it's nice to have someone who does know what it's like to jump in the middle, and, despite the screams and protests, be ignored in favour of an argument that will only rip people to bloody metaphorical chunks.

Why do I feel so more connected to him than to Jay?

Not a romantic connection, dear lord no. But an actual friend connection. I haven't felt this in years, and I can say so much to him and feel so much more relieved when I vent to him than I do with Jay, because I still feel that lack of trust with him, and yes I'm committing to him and it will come back in time, but I still can't believe what happened a year and a half ago, and just...

Why do I and this new friend get stuck with the drama? We both deserve so much, and yet all we can do is just...wish for the better to finally come in. Where's our silver lining.

When can we be loved for us and not out of obligation.
