I really didn't like the ending. Otherwise, this was the best Harry Potter book in the series. Spoiler I mean...sheesh, pretty cliché that Harry married Ginny, Ron married Hermione, they got kids, lived happily ever after. Kind of depressing that I want an unhappy ending, though. And, RIP Severus, Remus, Tonks, Fred, Dobby, Mad-Eye and George's ear.
I really like Kreacher in this book.. he was soo sweet and funny But for dobby why did she have to do that.. WHY!!!!!
Spoiler I liked that one line in which she described how the Malfoys sat, huddled together. I adored how Narcissa saved Harry's life, purely for Draco, and the fact that he still lived, and the fact that her only chance to enter Hogwarts and see Draco was as part of the winning party. Kreacher was wonderful, after Harry showed him that bit of kindness. <3 Ron's line, "Overkill, mate."
Completely agree. I only finished it now, four days after I got the book, but I absolutely loved it. It was bloody brilliant. Best Harry Potter book by far! [spoiler!] I even liked the epilogue, it was cliché and everything, but how could she not have made an ending like that... speculations about the future of Harry would've killed the brilliance of this book. "RIP Severus, Remus, Tonks, Fred, Dobby, Mad-Eye and George's ear." Indeed! Blimey, I was really hoping for a werewolf duel, though. Where was Bill and why did Lupin die so suddenly? About that creature under the chair when Harry and Albus are talking about everything. I think that's the part of Voldemort's soul stuck on Harry's. It would explain why it was there, and why it was just a small Voldemort. She's should've done more with that... We really shouldn't complain, it was brilliantly put together, all the previous locations and characters appearing. I got a hell of a lot more answers to questions I didn't even ask myself than I expected to get.[/spoiler!]
Congratulations on joining the Spoilers Club OMG! Like the Slug Club! Spoiler So liking Slughorn duelling in his pyjamas.
For those interested, JKR "probably will" write a Harry Potter Encyclopedia. "The encyclopedia would include back stories of characters she has already written but had to cut for the sake of narrative arc (“I've said before that Dean Thomas had a much more interesting history than ever appeared in the books”), as well as details about the characters who survive “Deathly Hallows,” characters who continue to live on in Rowling’s mind in a clearly defined magical world." http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/19935372/
Although I would much have preferred an eighth novel, I am totally comprehending the majorly sucky fact that there is nothing to write about. Well, there is, but.. you catch my drift. Yay! Encyclopaedia! Never been so happy to hear the news about an encyclopaedia before!
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19959323/ Since the epilogue was so vague, she decided to tell it in detail herself.
I don't know if anyone notices but: SPOILER - My prediction (for those of you who remember it from after book 5) came true. The Marauders died in reverse order of their name order. Always refered to as Moony, Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs; James died first, followed by Sirius through the veil, Pettigrew strangled himself and Remus died last in battle.
Spoiler I'm trying to convince myself that this is my favourite book in the series. But somehow PoA, which happens to be my favourite, comes in the way lol. Anyway, I must say that I loved this book! JRK crafted a masterpiece and did the series justice in my opinion. The deaths, especially Dobby's & Fred's, shook me, but hey...atleast the thing I was dreading didn't happen: no one in the trio dies! Overall the book gives a brilliant ending to a brilliant series. Looks like Harry Potter isn't over after all. We still have this encyclopedia to look forward to which of course is awesome!
I'm pretty sure Harry Potter will never be over completely... it's a big franchise JK Rowling would be nuts to give that up.
Yeah.. Look at Sue Townsend. After ten years, she decided to up and continue with the Adrian Mole novels
That book was just....amazing. I finished it a few days ago, and I'm very happy with the happy ending, although I was preparing myself for over a year for a very sad ending but I guess I didn't have to... I personally love the "Albus Severus" for Harry and Ginny's son. I think that's adorable. A lot of people thought that that was just TOO much, and a little bit too sappy, but I thought it was sweet. Hehe, I think Daddy-Harry is great.
Yeah I feal the same about that. Poor thing The ending was also a bit too quickened to my opinion but on the hole the book was great "I've had enough trouble for the rest of my entire live..." Love that
Yeah, same here. I like the ending, but it was like "another book with the HAPPYLY EVER AFTER ending"... it's annoying cuz you know everybody's going to be happy, so why to go and make all the drama in the rising action if it's going to be the prefect ending..again >_> I would really like this on a movie already! it's going to be breath-taking with all those effects and the fighs..
spoiler/idea> as much info was in this book..they BETTER make it a 3 hr movie..not to mention its the last of the books
