[begin] And Ron? He pulled it out, albeit not out of a hat. Ahh, I'm just happy that Ron did something I adore Ron.[end]
Spoiler Hah, well, I don't think it really required skill to pull it out of the lake, but it's still something. Hell, at least Ron got to use it. That was intense.
[begin] I've got to admit, there were a few moments where I thought Madeye was a deatheater, but then I slapped myself and cleaned my glasses, and continued reading.[end]
Spoiler I totally liked how it was explained that Snape was aiming for a Deatheater when he lopped off George's ear, though
Spoiler If it wasn't for the Pensive, I would soooo call that bullshit. Oh, and the end of the letter. Rowling soo made you think it would be something bad.
Spoiler Funny thing is, I'm pretty sure I read a fanfic somewhere with Snape being in love with Lily and whatnot.. it's a pretty popular storyline
I don't think I would have ever expected that to happen. Spoiler But you know, it could have been a hint whenever he talks about James in a bad light to Potter.
Spoiler Yeah, instead of stuff like "oh, harry, your father was an arrogant twat", he meant "oh, harry, your father was an arrogant twat that stole my girl".
Spoiler> yeah he never talked bad about lilly..but imagine if harry let slip Snape or Severus Snape around Petunia..she might have recognized the name
Spoiler Which is probably why J. K. had him never do that. Shame. It would've been interesting. Petunia would probably have pretended not to know him.
// Which brings me to wonder, did Lily ever discuss whatever happened in Hogwarts with Pentunia? // Mali - Precisely, he was rather bitter about the whole idea, I guess.
Well Petunia knew about dementors so probably Lily did tell her a bit about the magical world, Petunia probably turned a deaf ear to it all....
Ok. So Where do I begin. SPOILER. She should have invested more time into explaining the Deathly Hallows. It's the fucking title of the book for god's sake, don't devote the last, what, 5 chapters to it?! I got confused with the whole Elder Wand thing, not to mention since it has to do with both Harry and Voldemort's heritage, it should have gotten more book time, IMO. George losing an ear was horrible. Fred's death, worse. Percy is still a prat and I couldn't keep myself from screaming when he strode back in. Pompous ass. Teddy Tonks is by far the cutest character ever contrived. Zomfg. <333 Remus/Tonks made my heart giggle. Just too bad they both had to die. Wtf. So Harry should have raised Teddy, like Sirius would have done with him if Pettigrew hadn't betrayed them. Which reminds me...GODDAMNIT PETTRIGREW SHOULDN'T HAVE GOTTEN OFF THAT EASILY. The book seemed very rushed to me, not to mention with such a FanFiction Dot Net ending. Ugh. I have more to say but my ears are bleeding from my brain melting. Goddamnit. Waste of time reading, if you ask me.
The original version was probably a lot longer and I think the publisher cut out a lot to get the story going as they usually do. Why can't they just let her write it as she wants to because then we would have more information about the critical parts of the plot and we don't really care how long the book is as long as we know as much information as possible...
/ranting+spoiling/ Yeah, that bugged me too. She killed him off way to fast. Harry and Ron first ambush Pettigrew, then Pettigrew tries to strangle Harry, and Harry reminds him that he saved Pettigrew's life before, so he releases his grip and goes to strangle himself instead. Fin. WHAT THE FUCK. There's a whole bunch of random little WTFs throughout the book. Like with Hedwig. She kills the owl right off the fucking bat. Doesn't even give it a chance. And then she kills off Mad-Eye before the story's even begun. And George's ear? Come on, that was pretty stupid. Especially when you hear how it came to happen. But I thought the Deathly Hallows were explained well enough.I really can't imagine what she left out about them.//
I tries to read the order of the pheonix years ago when it came out, there was so much unneeded crap in the first half i stopped reading. When i saw the movie i thought i wish i read that book not the extended crap i have at home. The movie was great (aswell as the story) and cut out most of what i had read so far. I will read the 7th after i read the 6th which'll be in a while. All these spoiler text is really annoying me.
