It's only two weeks until the five year anniversary of the opening of these forums, and now I've finally hit 20,000 posts! I don't know how you can get 20,000 posts without postwhoring a little bit, but I can tell you that I've tried my best to make the majority of my posts outside of postwhoring topics. Just look at my participation in Random Chat, it's almost non-existant! Sure, about 1/20th of my posts are news posts, and another 1/4th are probably in the vein of "you've posted in the wrong forums. *move*", or "this thread exists. *close*", or "pointless. *close*." or "this thread is over a month old. please don't necropost. *close*", or "are you an idiot? *close*", and so on and so forth. Thanks to my fellow staff members for keeping me sane in the staff forums, and all the other members who have in some way made this place a great place to converse and socialize. It's you who really make this place worth visiting. I could go down an entire list of members I wish I could individually say thanks to, but that'll take a long time, I'll probably forget somebody, and this post is already dragging on a little long. Anyways, thanks. All hail your Arcade Leaderboard champion.
Actually the 5 year anniversay of this site raises a quiestion: Will this site still be up in the next 5 years? Would this site still exist if LP split up? So many quiestions...
I have a feeling we'll be around. Haha. The forums at least would most certainly exist in some form or another.
Geez, me reaching 1000 posts yesterday seems so insignificant now... Congrats Mark, keep up the good work, keep those noobs under control
Too bad I'm about 150 posts too late but I wanted to say this: Nice. I've got a feeling that the site will surely be up for another five years. There's sites I know that are approaching their tenth anniversary and there's not a whole lot of fandom activity around their message boards while LPA is the opposite. So, why not another five years.
