Alright. I need to get my files off of my ipod.

I have done the method where you show the hidden folders, find the music folder, extract that to anywhere, then let itunes decipher it.

The only problem with that is alll the files named with letters and numbers, so i cant store them on my computer. They only will show up on itunes.

Anyone know how to accomplish this?

If you have a Mac, there is a program available for download called "Senuti." It takes the music from your iPod onto your library in iTunes. As far as I know, no such program has been created for PC users.

I hate apple...its MY music, why can't I transfer it to something other than itunes??? I think theres a program out there called "EphPod" which works kinda like itunes to let you transfer files to your PC. I have never tried it though.

You don't have to use iTunes. Way to contradict yourself there buddy, you even said it yourself. You can use Ephpod or one of the other 70 million iPod management apps out there

haha im paranoid to use those 3rd party apps just because I dont know which ones are reliable. Also I have heard some people's ipods getting messed up by Ephpod, im not sure how, mainly happened to the new generation ones like the video one. Do you know of any 3rd party apps in particular that work well?

No, I use iTunes. By far the best music/iPod manager for OSX

    'iPod Access For Windows'
I've been using it for a while, you can only copy 5 songs at a time, but its not bad, works quite well.

I removed the crap from the thread. Either offer help or don't post anything.
