Is it just me or does Shadow of the day by Linkin Park sound like it could be a track from U2? But i really am starting to like this track, listening to it a few times it's begun to grow on me and i like the way it tips into What I've done ^^. Comments?
Did someone say it was like With or Without You? I, personally, don't listen to U2, but I've heard that several times.
it does but then again like every LP song, it has something about it that when you listen to it, you clearly hear Linkin Park style music
I'm starting to like Shadow of the Day. I haven't heard that many U2 songs so Idk. The only U2 song I ever liked was Vertigo.
Shadow of the Day is very U2-esque. It sounds like a track U2 would make, but Chester's voice is really what distinguishes it from a U2 track. What's very similar about this song is the structure, the tempo, and the beat. The beat is pretty much the same, as well as the tempo. The structure has this concept of just getting louder throughout the song. Either way, both songs are beautiful and very heartfelt. I like the U2-like approach Linkin Park took with this track.
My Mom loves this song and She's sixty years old...lmao Maybe they should do it as the next single, even though it's not a fan favorite... But yeah I've heard people say it sounds like U2's With or Without you more then once, which is a compliment when someone says you sound like f***ing U2! haha I've also heard a smart non-fan say this song has a lot of potential as a single.
Exactly. It also had me thinking of U2, when you hear bit of guitar like somthing 'The Edge' (U2 band member) would play in a U2 song.
The first listen I had of this song I thought straight away U2. It's just chester's voice seems to hold more...pain? and although I'm only 20, I've decided this will be my song at my funeral lol. I was thinking in the end, but this song seems deeper and would just fit awesomely into the whole funeral scene lol...mmm I think i'm getting way to far ahead of myself lol
I like U2, and consequently, I like SOTD. This isn´t the only similarity with U2: in the video for What I've Done, Chester looks like Bono.
People saying a band sounds like another band is actually the worst thing that could happen to a band.
Maybe the whole Chester/Bono thing is just a coincidence? Probably not, but idk....sometimes I wonder if they made Shadow Of The Day to sound like something from U2 on purpose.
