http://www.roadrunnerrecords.com/blabbermouth.net/news.aspx?mode=Article&newsitemID=72791 Wonder if this will affect Dark New Day's next album... if they've left for good or not. The first album was decent, but uninspiring.
Well, damn. I enjoyed Dark New Day's CD and I read on their MySpace a while back that they were working on a new record. I hope this doesn't put an end to that band.
I still can't get myself to enjoy the new music. I miss Ben Moody. He was and still is an amazing musician all around.
I lolled. I bought Fallen, loved it, didn't mind the Open Door, and now suddenly Ev is last on my list of bands I could care less about.
So there you have it. Amy's side of the story. You people can believe who you want but Amy was on honeymoon for a couple weeks and couldn't really defend herself while John decided to badmouth her.
See the thing is, Evanescence is always losing bandmembers though. It'd be different if this was a new thing but this is what, lineup change #4 or 5? (Including David Hodges leaving in the very beginning). It's starting to seem that either Amy is too difficult to work with, or that Amy really isnt good at hiring 'help'. One of the two.
Note, they said they were just borrowing the guys from DND "for a while". Anticipating another line up change, anyone?
Probably until they find a permanent lineup? That doesn't mean that Amy's going to fire them. It just means they might not be permanent because obviously it'd be hard for them to be in Dark New Day AND in Evanescence.
I know. I am just shocked they have another temporary line up. Makes Evanescence look even more like a solo act.
Evanescence is basically a duo. Amy and one other person, who happens to be the guitarist. The rest of the members don't do much on the albums at all from what I've seen, so every member except for Amy and Terry are replaceable. Obviously you couldn't have Evanescence without Amy but you could have Evanescence with only Amy as well. The only reason Terry really matters is because he co-wrote the album so a lot of the input on the album was on his part as well as Amy's.
The other members wrote too. I thought Tourniquet, my favourite song by them, was Hodges'. And Ben Moody was not so easily "replaceable" either, as I think the drop in quality between Fallen and The Open Door shows. Amy seems to have made all the other members replaceable, but I don't think they originally were. This is why I feel Evanescence is turning into a solo act.
I know Moody wasn't replaceable, that's why I said Guitarist the first time because that seems to be the trend in the band. I don't even remember Hodges at all
hahaha, that word i can't spell is now just nothing to me - i liked two of their songs from their old album. hahahha i laugh at evalenase w/e the f it is lol
I love Evanescence, but I make one question: Why doesn´t Lee destroy Evanescence and start a solo career? It would be easier for her.
