1,000 posts?

    I think its crazy that you have to have 1,000 posts just to play in the arcade. I dont have enough to say to justify 1,000 posts.

    It has made me want to just start replying to random things just to get my post count up. A forum shouldn't be about post count.

    I understand the reasoning behind it, because you dont want some random person signing up just to play the arcade. But to have 1,000 posts!? That's crazy.

    I think it should just be moderator approval or something like that.

    We impose that limit to encourage forum participation. By putting goals for the members to achieve, it can in essence strengthen the member participation in this community, as people will be more enticed to post in order to reach that 1,000 post goal. Certainly, posting randomly is not the way we wan't you to accomplish that, so I will run your concerns by staff and see what they think.

    By all means, its not cause i want to participate, alot of it is because i will see a topic and someone has already replied to answering the question, no need for me to reply and repeat what that use just said.

    I am part of a comptuer forums and im pushing 2000 posts, and ive been a member there since 04' and i have alot of knowledge about computers.

    So yea, it would take me forever to reach 1,000 post's :lol:

    I think it's fine staying at 1,000 posts, but I wouldn't care if you moved it down to 500.

    Another forum I post in actually allows the sharing of music and all of that stuff, but you need 300 posts to do so, since with all of the leeching and stuff, so...I think if you post enough, get to know people here, you'll get to 1,000 in no time.

    I think 500 would be reasonable.

    We originally put this in to reward our dedicated members who had been here for awhile. Now that we've done that, we could reduce it.

    I've been concerned about the arcade thing for a while. i've wanted to play in it for ages but reaching 1,000 posts without posting junk i think would take a very long time indeed. 500 posts I think would be more than acceptable, i'd be really happy if you did decide to change it to that.

    500 I believe would be the lowest we could go without disrespecting the people who paid to access that and the others that earned those 1,000. Any lower would be like telling the paid VIPs their money didn't mean crap.

    So basically, if you want instant (not 500-1000 post) access, you can donate money (even as low as 5-10 dollars) to LPA which will also gain you access to a more lenient VIP forum. Otherwise, if we choose to move it to 500, you'll have to get up to that. It's only fair.
