Punktastic interview Ian: http://www.punktastic.com/interviews/185 Alternatively, here are the more interesting parts:
Wow awesome update. This makes me alot more excited for the potential return to heaviness with this record. Nice to see him own BFMV as well.
I remember reading an interview when B4MV were just emerging where they were asked what they thought of other Welsh bands, and after they mentioned how they were fans of Funeral For A Friend and one or two others Matt said that Lostprophets could suck a cock, or something along those lines. I think he might have accused them of selling out as well. Not long ago they slagged off bands who style their hair and all that which could be seen as an indirect swipe as well. That definitely seems to be the gist of what he has against them. It's a bit childish really, but then with most musical feuds it's either that or Tupac and Biggie.
This might sound fickle but I've just listened to Start Something end-to-end for the first time in a while and I want to take back what I said before. It's an amazing album.
actually, ian gained a lot more respect with this interview IMO. the album seems like a highlight to me this year.
I actually loved all of Lostprophets' albums (obviously, since they're my favorite band, hence my screenname). That interview with Ian was GREAT. I love that guy to death and it sounds like the new album is gonna be great.
Ahh. I see. When I'm famous I'm going to knock off every band every by just saying "everyone who isn't me is terrible." Controversy...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VbD-I1D0UaU Say hello to a new song! "Road to Atrocity" Return to Fake Sound of Progress anyone?
Their last effort was wank. Start Something on the other hand was brilliant. If this isn't brilliant, well then I'll be dissapointed.
Yep that's the song they played at the show I went to last week. Sounds pretty decent. I dunno why everyone is trashing Liberation Transmission, I thought it was a pretty awesome album. Of course it wasn't better than Start Something but it was still a great album.
They've played at least 3 new songs - Atro City/Atrocity, Weapon, The Dead and possibly one more that I can't think of. I'd post links but I'm using a Wii right now. They're all sounding good though, especially Atrocity.
Maybe for some, but Start Something was also a major change in "their sound" after thefakesoundofprogress (perhaps even moreso than Liberation Transmission), and most people still liked it. Not all, but most. I just thought it sucked, personally. Couldn't listen to many songs in a row without stopping.
