I hope it's neither. Metal as in one of Faith No More's heavier songs is probably more likely and they'd be able to pull it off better as well.

Man, first AOL gets to hear the album, now these guys!? I wanna be in on a pre-release review of the album haha. I'm jealous. Sounds good though; this and the earlier post is making me have no fears about this album. Probably be my #1 album of the year. 41 days left!! Well, 40 for international... *napoleon voice* LUCKY!

Yes, I DO play guitar. Just because it's by itself doesn't make it a solo. I personally don't view it as a solo, and obviously neither did half of the forum, since it raised questions from even admins when someone mentioned 'three solos.'

I just don't see it as a solo. But that's just me. You want a solo, go check the Chili Peppers.

Just when I thought I was sold just from hearing What I've Done.

U2-resembling track? This album will be in my hands for sure.

As far as the What I've Done guitar part is concerned, I don't think it's a solo. I guess, it could be considered one, but it's not brought out enough to really be a solo. It's just a guitar 1 part, really.

Call it what you want, just don't start any arguments.

And the metal and punk songs should be interesting. It also makes me happy that there are still some old LP-ish songs on there.

This album sounds like it's going to be fantastic.

Yes it's a solo, but a small one. Have you ever listened to Nirvana? Kurt Cobain pulls small solos. Most noticable in "Heart Shaped Box" from Nirnvana's "In Utero" CD.

I guess, it's just I've only really associated guitar solos with ass-kickedness. Seems more of the same to me. Even with Nirvana (of which I own everything by them). Never really associated them with solos.

Guitar solos, heavy metal, heavy punk, classic rock with a U2 vibe to it. I don't even mind a pop sound to Valentine's Day (as long as it's catchy like Breaking the Habit).

This album is rest assured - to be amazing. Linkin Park are geniuses, so I do not doubt them one bit.

Not long now... not long now.

    This. Rules.

Hail Linkin Park! (catchy phrase ;))

By the way, how does heavy punk sound like? Modern punk bands typically sound like rock bands don't they?
