My cold is back.

What I've Done sucks. Typical first single from them. Here's hoping the album is ALOT better. ugh.

 

for the hype put behind it, it does suck. a lot.

but the new mars volta will not dissappoint casey. not that that has anything to really do with new linkin park being dissapointing. if you want an amazing live bootleg (the 03/15/07 one if you do have it), i'll upload. it has two new songs. thomas pridgen totally tears jon theodore a new one.

 

I'm not so much worried as to how the new Volta will totally kick ass, but I'm worried about the soundscape for the album. I much preferred De-Loused and Frances, but Amputechture was prog-rock wank. Salsa Theater, if you weeeel.

What album does the new song(s) sound like they belong on?

 

idle tooth sounds like it belongs on tremulant (about 2:40 long, very fast paced) and rapid fire is a mix of de-loused and viscera eyes off of amputechture.

rapid fire tollbooth sounds like 21st century schitzoid man by king crimson. a early version is coming out on omar's upcoming album (which will be out on the 29th).

and idle tooth is more percussion driven. rapid fire has the smoothest sounding guitar work from omar i've ever heard. the wanking has gone down.

 

Time for bed. This week is going to suck. At least I have off on Friday. Yay.
