Adding to the ever growing list of release date rumors for Linkin Park's yet to be titled new album, BestBuy.com has recently speculated a release date of May 1st with three different versions listed for purchase through their online store. While rumored release dates are certainly nothing new to fans, it should be worth a mention that this is the first time Linkin Park's new album has been listened as Parental Advisory, with a clean version, and special edition also available for pre-order alongside the speculated date of release. Will Linkin Park finally break the 'no swearing' code they've followed over the past couple of years? Only time will tell.

Cue all the people against swearing because their parents won't let them buy the CD.

I don't know. I think Bestbuy are just playing it safe for pre-orders sake. In other words, they're listing an edited version and an unedited version just in case both versions do get released. If not, then it won't matter because Bestbuy can just send the CD out and nobody can complain because they're both the same price. Bestbuy just taking precautions, that's what I think. This is by no means confirmation that there will be swearing on the album, or even the release date for that matter. It's all still to be determined.

On a serious note, I hope they don't go overboard on the curses... it'd seem so off. Like, maybe as much as they do during live shows.

EDIT: Brad and Rob's smileys look exactly the same? Heh, you should mod Brad's with a HUGE 'fro,

I was talking to Derek and I said that maybe it'll come with a dvd that will have swearing on it, which would list the album as a Parental Advisory. Perhaps the album won't have swearing on it if that's the case. Who knows though. I actually don't mind swearing, unless the cd is just infested with it.

I don't know. Best Buy was pretty accurate when they put up all the Fort Minor CDs, including all of the special edition stuff of that CD.

Well, there you have it. The thread I started just about got answered. At least there're speculations... haha

It'll be interesting to hear a major studio album of LP with swearing in the lyrics... it's part of the change that they're going through, maybe a maturity thing. Who knows: maybe they'll regret not doing it earlier. Then again, they could regret doing it at all.....

Just look at how Fort Minor did. And they promoted it as "Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park" where anyone who knew LP didn't swear in their songs wouldn't be expecting it from him, but he did. That was a different style of music, though. It fit well with it.

I guess we'll just have to see. Any album will do now after waiting this long... :ermm:

I really don't believe they will swear. If they plan on maturing, that's really not the way to go...

    I think the same thing

I personally think they should just leave it to their live shows.

I just hope that they don't do that stupid reversing swear words thing.

For some reason it annoys me.

As long as it's not every other word, this dosen't even make my top ten things I'm concerned/curious about this new CD.

I believe that swearing doesn't necessarily have to be there to prove maturity. But if they want to do it and if it goes with the songs then I'm cool with it.

Oh come on! You know they (C&M) curses like sailors at their concerts. Like we never heard them swear before. And kids are not dumb, they know curse words, cause they hear it from their parents!

that's actually a pretty good theory. but in most cases i think they say that "Extra Content Not Rated" on cd/dvd combos, unless they've changed it to where they have to or something lately...

    oh, and maturity != swearing
