    Single is confirmed for March.

It would take an official statement from the band that it was delayed for it to be otherwise.

    Sort of.

They said "looking for a March release" or something similar to that, which could mean it is not certain. And since the album isn't complete yet, it's too uncertain to tell for sure.

As soon as they have the song they want as the single mixed, it can be used. Even if they decide to change the mixing a lil bit after it doesn't matter. I've seen a few singles (not from LP) where they sound slightly different on the album then they did in the single.

    Very true.

Of course, we really don't know who's picking the single.

    Intro, Outro, "Session"

    Min of 16
So at least 13 full songs x3.

I guess that is ok...hopefully its 18 with 15 songs

where's everyone getting this "Outro" bullshit? None of the LP albums have an outro.

Last song on HT: "Pushing Me Away", not an instrumental/outro
Last song on Meteora: "Numb", not an instrumental/outro
Last song on Reanimation: "Krwlng", not an instrumental/outro

So quit subtracting three. Only two, and that's if they follow suit with Meteora. HT didn't even have an intro. Who knows what they'll do on this one though.

HT, no intro no outro, 12 songs - 0 songs.
Meteora, intro, no outro, 13 - 1 songs.
New CD, intro and outro, 16 - 2 songs.

Makes sense more or less. Subtract 0, subtract 1, subtract 2.

We are playing it safe. We don't want to anticipate too much.

Maybe they will have 2 sessions...

Maybe they will start with outros.

talking about instrumentals like Session & Cure for the Itch, too.

HT 12 songs - 1 [cure for the itch] = 11 real songs
    Meteora 13 songs - 1 [foreword] - 1 [session] = 11 real songs

So in theory, the new album could have possibly an intro and/or an instrumental in it. which would be only two, unless they did decide to do an outro for some reason, which isn't really LP like....

New album ~16 - 1? [intro] - 1? [instrumental track] = ~14 songs. with an outro it would be ~13 real songs. that's if you take their word that there's going to be at least 16 songs. i hope for 18. then it'd be 15 real songs. i highly doubt it, but we can hope b/c obviously we don't have a damn thing to say about it.

my bets are the album will be around the 40 minute mark or so. give or take a few minutes [most likely take].

it'd be highly stupid to put 3 intro/outro/instrumental tracks on one album that's shorter than about 18 to 20 songs, so that really sucks if they do that. just making it look longer w/ filler. that' smy one pet peeve with LP haha. all well, the rest of their music makes up for it though.

it's nice ! actually it's very nice and cool
though they satated in the beggining that it will be 50 songs, then changed into 30 and now 16 - 18

    next ... i dunno lol

but i hope they be like that 16 - 18 , coz it also soooo good, better than 10 songs
it's a great work would be, really hoping that !
new album will be amazing !!

We'll see how good it will be....... They have worked with this new album in four years now, so I hope it will be good ;). If not, it's a big disaster

That seems like a good idea for them. Chester said it himself [on Frat Party] that the name Linkin Park defines the music rather than the music defines the name. So, this would back his point. But, then again, if they were to further change their sound, this idea would be out the door. I think it'd be a better name for a greatest hits album. Just my opinion.

I thought he said the music defines the name. At least that would make sense in my mind. But maybe my memory is wrong. I'm sure there's 100 people on the forum that know the exact quote that can confirm what he said

I believe he talked about how Hybrid Theory defined the music, but when they changed to Linkin Park it is now the music that defined the name.
