Gah...did I ever mention that I HATE HOLDS?!!!

Especially the dreaded VOR hold. Fuck those.

 

'Hold' can mean a lot of things... but I'm clueless at the meaning of this 'hold'. Is it, like, hold cargo?

 

Nope...when you arrive at a fix (or you're enroute to a fix), control might ask you to hold/hold outbound on a certain track...something along the lines of "fdmx, hold at the boine NDB, right hand turns, on an outbound track of 230 degrees"...the hard part is the entry...depending on how you're approaching that NDB, you can enter the hold directly, on an offset entry (hard), or a parallel entry (hardest)... VOR holds are a completely different story, all the headings are backwards 'cause a VOR works on inbound headings/radials.

Confusing, isn't it? Now try figuring out your entry, time to station, etc, while doing 160mph, in the clouds, with an examiner next to you, your career on the line, and your distance to station clicking down at (about) two miles per minute...<_<

I think I have a real anxiety problem.

The more I think about it, the more sure I am.


I've FREAKED out before and hurt myself and taken things b/c of school and now, when I think about it, I start to hyperventalate (sp?) and cry, and shake.
