I'm pissed that they are going to the Liacouras Center and not the Wachovia Center. I had my heart set on seeing these guys, but not anymore. Meh.
Again, I say: Blasphemous. Muse are tenfold, no, thirtyfold more talented than MCR, and one of the best live bands out there. I just can't see Muse doing this. I don't understand how anyone could book such an energetic band to play as an opener. People would be rocked out of their minds before MCR hit the stage. But if it can gets Muse more US recognition, I hope it does.
That's usually the point of an opening band: to get the fans into the show, so the energy carries over to the main show. As for Muse opening, I don't see any problem with it. It's not like either band is Rolling Stones huge or anything, and Muse is only really popular in England, so them opening would get them some exposure. And legions of Hot Topic kids as fans, too, but who cares.
Recognition for Muse is higher than you think. I, personally, play Muse every time I hit the radio station--I just love them that much. Even my dad, who admittedly doesn't like much of the music I listen to, admits that they've got talent, oodles of it. (shoots self for using oodles) I would go, just to see Muse play. And then duck out before MCR went onstage. On a slightly related topic, I hate it when bands hit Ohio, Michigan, and Illinois and call it quits for the Midwest. Wisconsin and Minnesota do exist you know, to say nothing of the Dakotas and Iowa.
I know that, but having an opening band completely dwarf the headlining band in terms of performance ability kind of weakens the headlining act, in my opinion.
Wow lol, both Muse and MCR are going to be at Big Day Out. One of these bands I don't mind (and it's not MCR). Note to self: must buy "Cheer Up Emo Kid" shirt before BDO.
I thought the idea of Muse opening for MCR was that you went for MCR and didn't mind seeing Muse beforehand. Meh.
that is shocking - muse are the best live band i have seen, period. they are simply amazing live. MCR have nothing on them at all IMO
